Preparation
Make enough copies of the worksheets and cut apart A / B cards.
Procedure
1 Give half the class A cards and the other half B cards.
2 Tell students to work in pairs, student A and student B.
3 Emphasize that they must not look at their partner’s sheet.
4 Explain the task. Tell students that card A has some information about a person’s
life and card B has different information. The objective is to complete the biography
by asking each other questions.
5 Elicit the kind of questions they are going to ask, e.g. What was his/her full
name? When/Where was he/she born?
6 Set a time limit and get students to start working.
7 Go around checking that students are not simply comparing their cards. Help
them whenever needed.
8 When the time is up, stop the activity and check their answers.
Follow-up activity
Students write a short paragraph using the information from the cards.
