College Comparative Analysis

My whole life I wanted to attend the California State University Los Angeles. This work

has helped me to understand how unprepared I was for college. Doing this research has helped

me to understand more about the universities. It has prepared me more because my research

includes the price of books, tuition, health fees etc. This research has strengthened my choice to

attend California State University Los Angeles and California State University Dominguez Hills

because they have the major that I want, which is Pre-Dental. Other reasons why I want to attend

to Cal State LA is because of the demographics, cost of tuition and logistics.

During the research I was comparing the tuition of both schools, I saw that Cal State LA

required a lower amount for tuition. Tuition for Cal State LA is $3,588.00 and tuition for

Dominguez Hills is $5,742. Then with this money that I save I can buy with it a computer,

books, ect. I also choose Cal State LA because of the transportation, It is more safety where I’m

going to wait for the bus. Also Cal State LA is one of the universities that have a higher

percentage of graduates rates than Dominguez Hills. That is one of the reasons I choose that

university because I can have more opportunity to graduate of that university.

Comparing the demographics, I immediately noticed the graduation and acceptance rates.

The acceptance rate at Cal State LA is higher than at California State University Dominguez

Hills. The graduation rates at Cal State LA are slightly higher than Dominguez Hills. Since I will

be getting to school in public transportation it might be the only factor that can be complicated,
but by the cost of living at home for some time and by getting more, I will be able to manage my

transportation.

The university of Dominguez Hills is a good school, but it is not one of the options

that I am interested now. Before I knew about all about university, I really wanted to attend

Dominguez Hills because it is not far from where I live. One of the reasons that I do not want to

attend this university is because the tuition is too expensive. Another reason is because the

percentage of graduation of this university is too low. All of this helped me understand that

Dominguez Hills is not a good option for me.

Though this experience I had learned the price of going to college, literally. Having a

guide helped research the important factors that play into choosing a collage. I feel I am more

prepared for college knowing what factors are important. This has also motivated me more to

become someone in life. Also this help me choose the university that I really want to attend.

In conclusion, I think it is important to research schools and be more informed. Being

informed helps us understand better about the benefits that each university has. Then, when we

want to attend some university we would already know what are the tuitions of the universities

we want to attend. Doing all this help me be more interested in going to one of universities and

be someone in this life.
