Statement of Purpose

I am Prakash Thapa, a permanent resident of Melung 01-Dolakha. I was born on 18th

November2002 in a generous family, as the son of Mr.Bharat Thapa and Mrs.Suvhadra
Thapa. I am a very pleasant and active person who have always been fascinated by
travelling, socializing with people of different culture and seeking the best for social
contribution.I come from a rather humble background and had long learned that there are
no shortcuts to success. I believe with my interactional skills, knowledge and some
experience, I can alleviate myself toward successful future endeavors. The curriculum of
BBM program at CIC will allow me to develop my abilities further.

Academic Background:

I have completed my Secondary Educational Examination (SEE) from Teresa Academy

securing 3.25 GPA in 2017 and Higher Secondary Level (+2) from OliverPublic Secondary
School securing 2.53 CGPA in the year 2019 respectively. Furthermore, I appeared for my
IELTS test on7th September 2019 and secured an overall 6.5 band score, with individual
scores of 5.5 in reading, 6 in writing, 8 in listening, and 6 in speaking. I was the student
trying for studies in Australia in the year 2019 too after my Higher Secondary Level but my
underage had been an issue. Also, the current pandemic has resulted some educational gap.
But since I have fulfilled all the required qualification now, I would be humbled to further
my education in Australia.

Reason for choosing Australia:

With my high school(+2) over, as I was preparing for my IELTS, I did a detailed research
about the best place for getting my desired degree. I also visited various education
consultancies assisting students for application to colleges and universities in USA, France,
Canada, Australia and New Zealand, consulted with some of my relatives abroad and
attended some international education fairs. I became aware about different countries and
their education system. Finally, I made a choice to study in Australia as its educational
system is globally renowned and the living expenses are relatively affordable. Australian
education is ranked 8th in the world. Australia has the third highest number of international
students in the world. It is mostly due to its outstanding education system that emphasizes
on practical and research-based methodology parallel with clear theoretical concept. Seven
of the top hundred universities of the world are located in Australia. Six cities of Australia
are listed among the 50 best student accommodated cities in the world. Due to its high
educational profile, its degrees are highly valued globally. Even in Nepal, Australian degrees
are highly sought and graduates are comfortably placed in various companies with good
remuneration and benefits.

Reason for choosing Melbourne

Melbourne boasts its successes attributed to its stability, healthcare, culture, environment,
education, and infrastructure. Melbourne has fast become the choice destination for many

Melbourne which might have some complications for me on the long term perspective. As
for Brisbane, part time job opportunities are likely less. As a student, I need to do a part
time job as to cope up with my expenses and since the opportunities are slim in Brisbane, I
prefer Melbourne. Overall, in comparison to other well renowned cities of Australia, I found
Melbourne to be the best suited and rational place to stay and pursue my education.
Reason for not choosing Nepal

Before I decided to study abroad, I visited various colleges here in Nepal like St. Lawrence
College, St. Xavier's College and few others which offered Bachelors of Business Marketing
but lacked practical oriented approach to learning. Most courses in Nepal are primarily
theoretical with little emphasis to practicality embrace it. Nepal does not consider
Marketing as its individual genera of education field rather it is coped up under different
aspects of Business Management. Therefore, it is not possible for me to study only the
marketing course which I wish to get specialization in. Rather, all the business aspects has to
be studied under one course that might delay the desired growth in skills and knowledge I
wish to gain. Also,here in Nepal, the degree of Nepal is not well valued by Nepali companies
and institutions as much as Australian degrees are. So, I thought it would be better to get an
overseas education that will enrich my knowledge, exposure and skills which in fact shall be
beneficial for my career once I return back to my nation. Many opportunities in the future
can be embraced in my nation as well as international markets if I am to gain qualification
and skills from foreign nation. I can be more preferred and favored in my nation too if I am
to get a foreign degree. Many well renowned institutions and company shall consider me a
priority candidate for my future working days. With the intention to thrive for excelling
offers and success in future after I gain proficiency, adroitness as well as professionalism, I
choose Australia to be the best foreign destination for my education.

Reason for not choosing other nations except for Australia

In course of choosing a particular nation for my studies, I conducted research and started
gathering reliable information about various countries like the USA, Canada and France.
But, because of several reasons, I found Australia better for my further education than other
countries. The tuition and living expenses there are comparatively higher than that in
Australia and visa processing procedures are long winded and hectic too. Other major
aspects are the political scenario, climatic condition and safe environment for international
students. It would be difficult for an international student like me to adjust in a new
environment. Regarding the USA, the high crime rate and the growing political division
there is something to worry about for a foreign student. Also, I was able to research on
various universities of USA like University of Tulsa, Princeton University, Frankline &
Marshall College but the tuition fee ranged on an average of $25,000 to $32,000 USD which
is comparative higher to me than Australia. Moreover, the weekly living expenses in USA
can exceed up to $150-$250 USD while food expenses can take up to $200 USD.
Furthermore, the cold climatic conditions of Canada will be difficult for a person like me
from a moderate climate to adjust to. Since I belong to a provenance with decent and warm
climatic situation, I won’t be able to embrace the extreme cold weather. In addition,
European countries like France prefer their native language over English, thus making it
difficult for international students like me to learn and live. Though there are institutions in
France like Pantheon-Sorbonne University, Paris Dauphine University etc. that provide
English education but they might not be that effective and beneficial for me in the long run
in terms of future prospects. Also, for France, specific French language class needs to be
attained in my nation alongside pass a certain credit limit which might be a difficult and time
consuming process for me as I am unknown about the French language. I did consider
NewZealand another option for studies but I was more fascinated by the vibes,
opportunities and lifestyle of Australia. Since the climate alongside the opprotunities is in
higher ratio than New Zealand, I prefer Australia. Also, the pandemic attack has indeed
reflected the nation’s tendency in encountering with the threats and the way Australia
fought with Pandemic is highly acknowledgeable. I too want to be a part of safe and sound
environment that prioritize the human health above all.

Reason for choosing Bachelor of Business (Marketing)

The world of business revolves around us. Witnessing business ideal around me has
motivated me to embrace success as they have. I was greatly fascinated by the idea of
business at an early age and how it can create an impact on many lives. I do intended to
alleviate success in my future with the qualification and ideologies I gain.So, I desire to learn
business aspects in depth and become a part of excelling organizations, thus, influencing
hundreds of lives. Thus, I prefer to choose Bachelor of Business (Marketing) as I have
interest in business general and marketing, which go along. Bachelor in Marketing can
broaden my future possibilities and open new path for me in the world of business. Since I
can learn fundamentals of business trends and practices after studying bachelor of
Marketing, it shall be best me to pursue with this course. I can develop knowledge base to
include vital marketing practices applicable to Australian and international contexts with
marketing field. Upon my course completion, I will have gained the skills and knowledge to
identify the marketing opportunities, generate new ideas, undertake the market research
and analyses and confidently apply their knowledge in marketing positions within domestic
and as well as internationally focused businesses. Though, my secondary education was in
hospitality management, I got to know more future scope is there in marketing than in
hospitality as the world runs under the trade and I wish to make myself more skillful and
knowledgeable in understanding the ideologies of business market. With this course, I
would meet the Australian Qualifications Framework specialization for a level 7 bachelor
degree. The course is offered on a full-time basis on campus and units are delivering in a
lecture as well as tutorial format. The Bachelor of Business (Marketing) is three year course
duration over twelve to six weeks teaching terms (the equivalent to six semesters) on a full
time basis. This course comprises of 16 units major sequence providing depth of knowledge

After I decided to go to Australia, it was time to choose the best place among hundreds of

me to pursue my studies. But gradually, I researched and got to know that despite being
side by side the CIC College in Lonsdale Street, Southern Cross University’s tuition fee is
comparatively higher that CIC as its ranges to $120,000 AUD for a whole Bachelor’s course.
Also, the tuition fee of Holmes Institute ranges to $56,000 AUD and Elite Institute exceeds
at $54,000 AUD for the whole Bachelor’s in Business Marketing course. Privilege over tuition
fee was not only the reason for me to choose CIC. Rather CIC has the acceptance of part of

firm. When I get to know about different advantages of CIC, it indeed has been most
preferable and suitable educational institute in my eyes. It is very well renowned for its
bachelor’s courses in business management. Its tuitions fee is reasonable and affordable for
me. Also, since I got to know it provide opportunity for internships too, I was further more
attracted toward CIC as some college doesn’t tend to do so. Moreover, CIC is located in the
busy side of the city where opportunities does exist more which might become easier for
me in terms of part time job and it shall save me travel expenses too. Regardless of all the
educational benefits, I found CIC also fulfilling my criteria’s for living aspects too.

My living plans in Melbourne during my education

As per my research, some of the best location for me to accommodate during my education
shall either nearby the Lonsdale Street a bit close to my college location or I can consider
residing nearby Finders Street or Bourke Street. As a student, alongside my education I also
need to consider some part time job. Thus, after getting consultations, these places can be
the best option for me. However, there are three of my friends residing in Queensberry
Street. The walking distance can be a bit hectic from Queensberry Street to Lonsdale but I
can work things out and seek traveling alternative if I make up my mind to share
accommodation with them. Rather Campus accommodation or Temporary accommodation,
I intend to confirm my accommodation from Nepal only and stay in a share house with the
people I know. Living together with the ones I already share bonding with can further be
prolific for me to get to know the environment and understand the lifestyle of Melbourne.
Also, they can aid me help from common friends in my education as well as part time job
opportunity. As for my living cost, I evaluate my weekly expenses to be an average of $80
per week including, electricity, gas, water and Internet if I am to split my bills with the
tenants I might reside with. As for my traveling cost, I calculated an average of $17 to $25
per week. Likewise, my meals cost can exceed up to $100 to $120 per week depending upon
the diet shall take. I have made a précised calculation of my expenses and am confident that
I can manage on my own with my expenses and take proper care of him well being.

Future Career Plans

After my graduate degree program, I will have an option to do my two years of PSW in a

my career once I return back to Nepal. I will be equipped with a world class education and

have chosen will, therefore, open a new horizon of opportunities for me as there are high

field. I want to continue my career in the same field or pursue business startup after I return
to my country. I believe I will be a position of advantage for having an international degree

future in. With my skills, foreign certificate and experience in business marketing, any of
these companies can be easily accessible for me to further my future career. Since

related to my intended education attainment in Marketing and also located in Makwanpur,
Nepal, it can be optional career plan for me in Nepal. There are also many other firm I can
direct a successful career in if my foundation is to be built with a foreign degree. Moreover,

www.kumarijob.com, a strong payroll, higher position and respect is acquired from the ones
who are to get foreign educational certificate.
My foreign degree and knowledge in the field of marketing alongside experience that I will
embrace while staying in Australia, is going to help me develop my skills and I will be able to
present myself as a suitable candidate for my preferred career pathways in different multi-
national companies. Also, I do have the intention of starting up a new business venture in
marketing field in my home nation only in the future after directing stability in my life. Open
up a business as in E-commerce in relation to agricultural products or starting a venture in
trade of technological appliances and fashion accessories in my home nation and gradually
expanding it to national as well as international markets is my biggest future career plan
which is wish to accomplish. Therefore, it is mandatory for me to have knowledge on
markets, adapt the difficulties, synthesize, research and communication relevant
information alongside build a strong foundation of marketing principles before I put forth
my hand in any business. Thus, with my intended career plan, it is vital for me to pursue
with Bachelor of Business (Marketing).
