Genuine Temporary Entrant Statement Letter

Introduction
I am Karamvir Singh S/o Gurdarshan Singh from India and I intend to study in Bachelor
program in Australia. The program in which I wish to study is (code 044114D Bachelor of
Commerce (Accounting)) and it is a three years program. In the following paragraphs, I have
listed out the reasons for choosing Australia and Federation University Australia as my study
destination. Moreover, I have also mentioned about my academic profile and the career plans
after the completion of my program.
Academic Profile
As per my academic profile, I have completed 10 th grade and 12th in years 2016 and 2018,
respectively both from Punjab School Education Board. After the completion of Senior
Secondary Education, I took some time to research on the courses and the study destination. I
want an international qualification, which can get me overseas degree with global exposure.
Therefore, I took IELTS exam on 13/10/2018 in which I scored 6.0bands overall.
Why Australia
There are various reasons behind choosing Australia as my study destination:
● Research output and industry partnerships are very important for universities in
Australia; ensuring students remain leaders in innovative fields. While studying in
Australia, students will benefit from these connections throughout your degree.
● Another essential feature is that Australia provides ESOS (Educational Services for
Overseas Students) Act which shields my family and me on financial terms.
● While studying in Australia, your degree is trusted and recognized globally. The
Australian education framework keeps up its global reputation through high educational
measures, with its universities emerging in world league tables.
● Furthermore, Australia provides 2 years Post Study Work Visa after the completion of
study program. Hence, this gives a chance to get international work experience, which is
the need of the hour of international market.
● Universities of Australia have excellent infrastructure, latest equipment to work on and
their degrees are globally recognized. This in turn widens the scope of job opportunities
as one can secure a job overseas as well.
● The government of Australia monitors its education system very closely; hence, they
update the curriculum of the study programs on regular intervals only after consulting
with the industrial experts. As a result, student gets to learn the ongoing concepts of the
industries, which keeps students acknowledged about the latest industrial trends.
Why not India
Before deciding Australia as my study destination, I looked into Indian universities such as
Punjab University, School of Management Studies Ansal University in Gurgaon, Shoolini
University in Solan, and Rayat Bahra University in Mohali. However, I decided not to pursue
my further education in India because of the following reasons:
● Indian education system is more about books and less about practical learning skills as
Indian institutions do not have business tie-ups.
● The amount of international exposure and experience one can get while studying abroad
is not possible to get in India.
● Moreover, degrees from Indian universities are not recognized globally which proves to
be less productive as one cannot get job overseas in multinational companies.
● Furthermore, Indian universities do not have excellent infrastructure, latest technical
equipment and industry-based faculty, which are necessary to acquire the knowledge of
the latest concepts trending in the businesses.
● Moreover, none of these educational institutes provides the Bachelor of Commerce in
Accounting. They offer either Bachelors of Commerce (HONOURS) or Bachelor of
Commerce. The contents included in these courses are different from the preferred
course.
Reason for selecting Federation University
Federation University Australia (FedUni) is an advanced, dynamic institution giving high caliber
professional and advanced education over a national and worldwide system of grounds. The
college has a recognized history as the University of Ballarat, one of Australia's oldest advanced
education institutions. It moved toward becoming Federation University Australia in January
2014 upon merger with Monash University's Gippsland Campus. Our grounds range Ballarat,
Berwick, Gippsland and the Wimmera in Victoria. Another grounds in Brisbane, Queensland,
gives further chances to universal undergraduates and student portability. The major reasons
why I chose Federation University are the following:
● FedUni has peaked overall employment ranking (92%) of any Victorian-based
university. The university graduates have rated it five stars for student support as well
as five stars for overall satisfaction. Hence, it provides an advantage to be quickly
employed in the competitive Australian market.
● Fed Uni renders industry-oriented courses, which are regularly evaluated for relevance.
University close ties with many organizations facilitate in the making of diversified and
robust academic program. Hence, the university boasts highest employability among the
other universities.
● FedUni offers “The Industry Placement Program (IPP)” to achieve precious workplace
skills, which will broaden student’s knowledge and skills. Placements are carried out over
the course of either 13 to 26-week periods in a variety of organizations, where students
the opportunity to work on real projects, alongside industry professionals. It will offer a
better insight and understanding on the Australian work culture.
● Besides the brilliant experience, students also get compensation $15,000 industry
scholarship payment to help support studying and full-time placement. The Industry
Placement Program also provides the platform to further develop beyond university
education. As a result, the students feel rewarded for their pursuit of hard work.
● FedUni furnishes students with the imperative understanding, skills and ability for further
study in the world of work and to be efficient global citizens. It has an exceptional record
for teacher quality and graduate employment, with a five-star rating from the Australian
Good Universities Guide for Student Support, Social fair play and Skills Development.

▪ In terms of Australian ranking of 2017, Federation University held 31st rank whereas La
Trobe University and Southern Cross University were ranked at 36 th and 40th
respectively. It is based on reputation, graduate satisfaction and graduate salary. Ref

▪ To add on to it, Southern Cross University does not offer the same course as offered by
Federation University. It offers Bachelors of Accounting, Bachelors of Business and other
courses but not the preferred course. Ref https://www.scu.edu.au/study-at-scu/course-

▪ The Bond University as well as the La Trobe University offers Bachelors of Commerce
with choice of major subjects but it is not offering some of the subjects such as business

University Comparison in Other Countries

I have investigated the universities of other countries such as universities of Canada, United
States of America, Singapore, Ireland and New Zealand. The universities, which I have looked
in, are Carleton University in Canada, Curtain Singapore Institute in Singapore and Lincoln
University in New Zealand. However, none of these universities provides the opportunity of
pursuing the same course.
● In Canada, Carleton University offers Bachelors of Commerce (HONOURS), which is a
four year course. In comparison to Federation University, the duration of this course is
much lengthy and Honors course provide specialization in only one subject which will
reduce my further job scopes. Ref 1

● Similarly, Curtin Singapore provides Bachelors in Commerce with the double major
preferences in Accounting and Finance, Banking and Finance, Finance and Management,
Finance and Marketing and others but with accounts combination is not available. Ref

Besides it, Australia provides an ESOS (Educational Services for Overseas Students) Act, which
safeguards the students on financial terms as the tuition fee, will be secure. The government of
other countries does not provide this Act.
Career Plans
After the completion of my program, I will get post study work visa for 2 years. Through this
visa, I will be able to gain overseas work experience and exposure. Moreover, employers in
India prefer those who have either degree from an internationally recognized university or have
international work experience. Hence, I will be fortunate to get both the things and then it will
be easy for me to grab a job in multinational companies such as TATA Capital, Ernst and Young,
Pricewaterhousecoopers, Accenture, Reliance, Amazon, Flipkart, Bajaj Capital Ltd, Aditya
Birla Finance Ltd., etc. I can even look into large government organizations in India such as
Life insurance Corporation, State Bank of India, Indian Railways, And Indian Revenue Services.
I may get a job in companies like these at positions such as
● Accountant ● Business Analyst
● Auditor ● Finance Officer
● Public Accountant ● Stockbroker
● Banker ● Financial Analyst
I am highlighting some web links and snapshots, which affirm that Commerce is booming in
India and there are many high paying jobs available in India. Some of the current job profiles
available in India and overseas are:
The e-commerce has transformed the way business is done in India. The Indian e-commerce
market is expected to grow to US$ 200 billion by 2026 from US$ 38.5 billion as of 2017. Much
growth of the industry has been triggered by increasing internet and Smartphone penetration.
The ongoing digital transformation in the country is expected to increase India’s total internet
user base to 829 million by 2021 from 445.96 million in2017.  India’s internet economy is
expected to double from US$125 billion as of April 2017 to US$ 250 billion by 2020, majorly
