Statement of Purpose

"An Accountant is helpful in building a nation and can play many roles in the economy and finance-related
concerns".

Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam aptly expressed that Accountants play a crucial role as partners in the process of nation building. The
valuable contribution of Accountants can be observed across various domains, demonstrating their involvement in numerous
activities. From budget forecasting and tax planning to bookkeeping, capital budgeting, financing, and beyond, Accountants
are indispensable in every financial. A rational individual can acknowledge the pervasive need for Accountants in diverse
areas of operation. With this view and earnest thirst to work with MNCs I decided to apply for a Bachelor of Business in
Accounting at Polytechnic Institute Australia Pty Ltd.

I am Sameer an Australian study visa aspirant, residing in India with my father and grandparents. After successfully
completing my 10th from Army School in 2020, I completed my 12th from J.C D.A.V Collegiate Senior Secondary
School in 2022 with Commerce stream studying Accountancy, Business Studies, Economics, etc.

Language Abilities - Once deciding upon pursuing my higher education from abroad, I started preparing myself for all the
admission requirements of the universities/colleges in Australia. One of them was to prove my command over the
English language. Hence, looking into this, I appeared for PTE on 15th December, 2022 and secured an Overall Score of
64.

Why did I choose Bachelor of Business (Accounting)

The significance of Accounting in both companies and the broader business realm cannot be overstated. Recognizing the
importance of accounting during my senior secondary education, I have made the decision to pursue further education and a
career in this field. Upon careful consideration, it has become evident to me that thriving in the modern business
environment as an accountant necessitates advanced training in accounting and related subjects. The dynamic nature of the
business landscape, along with the need to enhance my expertise and professional skills, has motivated me to pursue a
Bachelor of Business in Accounting.

Originating from India, an Asian island with a trade-oriented economy increasingly focused on exporting to European and
North American markets, I am aware of the valuable contribution made by scholars from my country who have sought
education abroad. Their collaboration with foreign teachers and classmates has been instrumental in the economic progress
of our nation. I aspire to follow in their footsteps, broadening my international perspective, improving my language skills,
and refining my accounting knowledge.

The motivation behind my choice of a Business program with a major in Accounting stems from my coursework, where I
gained an understanding of the significance of Business and Accounting. Through my studies, I learned that accounting is
an evergreen financial, serving as the backbone of every business entity. Its importance spans across industries and it is
regarded as one of the most respected professions worldwide. Accounting plays a critical role in organizations,
encompassing tasks such as payroll management, auditing, and financial oversight. Due to the unique needs of different
companies, the demand for accountants continues to rise.

As my interest in accounting grew, so did my curiosity, leading me to conduct extensive research on the financial. I sought
guidance from my teachers, who further motivated me. I became aware that every organization requires skilled accountants
to manage and maintain their financial records. Such records enable organizations to evaluate their success or failure and
plan for the future. Consequently, the career prospects for accountants are consistently in high demand. Upon completing
my degree, I envision working in diverse areas such as public accounting, auditing, tax services, budget analysis, finance,
and management accounting, among others. Contrary to common assumptions, accounting is far from being a one-
dimensional financial. With the advancement of technology and the increasing complexity of businesses, the role of
accountants has evolved into a dynamic one. Accountants are no longer merely crunching numbers; they have transformed
into strategic advisors who significantly impact the overall health of a business.

It comes as no surprise that the demand for accountants is projected to continue growing. Between 2022 and 2023, the
global accounting services market experienced substantial growth, with its value increasing from $640.7 billion to
$675.14 billion. This represents a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 5.4%. Also, the accounting services
market is projected to expand further to reach $795.99 billion by an estimated CAGR of 4.2% in the coming years.

report#:~:text=The%20global%20accounting%20services%20market,(CAGR)%20of%205.4%25.) This data underscores
the broad and expanding nature of the accounting financial. Pursuing a degree in Business with a focus on accounting
presents numerous opportunities and a promising future.

By embracing this career path, I am confident in the potential for personal and professional growth. The scope within the
accounting financial is vast, providing ample avenues for specialization and advancement. With determination and
dedication, I believe I can carve out a bright and successful future for myself in this dynamic industry. I chose Australia as
my study destination where I finalized Polytechnic Institute of Australia as my course provider which I found quite suitable
for me. The degree is 3 years where some of the subjects of my interest include -

Why did I choose Australia over other nations

After deciding to study abroad, I searched in many countries. After comparing, I ended up choosing Australia for my further
studies. Also, after a thorough research, I was very clear in my thoughts about my reasons for not choosing other countries
including the UK, USA, and Canada.

Reasons to not Choose the United Kingdom - I found that in the UK the tuition fees are very costly. For example, in the
UK- King’s College, London charges INR 34.93 LPA for B.Sc. Accounting & Finance, University of Birmingham charges
INR 30.46 LPA for B.Sc. Accounting & Finance, University of Glasgow charges INR 35.94 LPA for Accountancy and
Finance BAcc. Since the currency conversion rate is quite high the tuition fee and living costs automatically go higher (1
GBP=104.23 INR).

Reasons I Did Not Choose the USA - In the USA I found Northeastern University (Finance & Accounting Management BS)
who charges INR 42.03 LPA for, Arizona State University charges INR 40 LPA for Business Corporate Accounting BA,
Texas A & M University charges INR 39.34 LPA for Accounting BBA. Moreover, In the USA the course duration is 4
years therefore the tuition fee becomes excessively expensive. The currency conversion rate is also quite high in the USA
which makes the living cost high (1 USD = 82.04 INR).

Coming to Canada- here I found mostly diploma based courses for commerce education such as Humber College providing
Advanced Diploma in Business Administration- Accounting, George Brown College providing advanced Diploma In
Business Administration- Accounting, Conestoga college providing Graduate Diploma In Business Administration-
Accounting, Indian MNCs do not give preference diploma graduates therefore I was looking for degree course.

Other Non-Anglophone countries in the EU also provide excellent courses in this sector but the problem is language barrier
and very high exchange rates (1 EURO = INR 89.84/-). The Germans are excellent and world renowned for their
contributions and research in the humanities stream but I cannot learn another new language for a study period of just 3
years.

When I consider Australia, it stands out as the most suitable country for me in terms of tuition fees, climate, and cost of
living. The Australian Qualifications Framework (AQF) sets the education standards, and the country follows the ESOS
(Education Services for Overseas Students) Act 2000, which ensures tuition assurance and protection services, keeping
students' fees safe. The currency conversion rate is favorable, making tuition fees and living costs relatively lower.
Australia's pleasant weather aligns well with my upbringing, unlike Canada or the UK, which have extremely cold and
snowy weather.

Compared to the UK and USA, Australia has a comparatively low crime rate, making it a safer place to live. The weather in
Australia is somewhat similar to India, while Canada is much colder and snowier. As an Indian, I am not accustomed to
such harsh weather, so Australia became my preferred choice. Just after the US and the UK, it is the third most popular
location for international students in the English-speaking world. Australia is a popular destination for overseas students due
to its rich cultural diversity, welcoming population, and excellent educational system. International students in Australia are
permitted to work during their studies, which helps pay for living expenses. Scholarship options are also available to lower
the cost of tuition.

All Australian institutes offer a dynamic, innovative, and challenging environment that encourages individuals to explore
and develop their true potential. An Australian qualification will provide a strong foundation for my career and future.
Australian education is highly respected worldwide for its practical, modern, and desirable approach. Australian degrees are
trusted and recognized internationally, and the country's education system upholds its reputation through high standards and
world-class universities known for research excellence.

Australian universities are renowned for their excellent quality of teaching and research. I will learn from knowledgeable
teachers who are experts in their fields, particularly in finance, and gain a solid understanding of my chosen area. Australia
is a diverse community that fosters cultural variations, making it an ideal place to live in harmony, as supported by the
Australian Bureau of Statistics. The country is known for its highly livable cities such as Sydney, Melbourne, and Perth. It
houses some of the world's top universities, as per the World University Rankings 2018, and has a global reputation for
research and innovation.

Considering all the mentioned facts, for me, choosing Australia as a study destination is the best decision and it will allow
me to have quality education in a world class environment.

Why did I not consider India

Before finalizing Australia, I looked into my country as well and found a bunch of good colleges like Bachelor of
Commerce such as Shri Ram College of Commerce, Loyola College, Hansraj College, Christ University, St. Joseph's
College etc. In India Accounting is Available mostly with a Bachelor of Commerce

However the curriculum has not been upgraded for a long time. Because of the fundamental differences in Education,
competition, job after completing studies etc. Moreover, the entry into a top reputed college or university is not easy; the
admission process is tough and complicated which revolves around entrance exams, group discussions and personal
interview. With all these processes, even the brighter students don't get the chance to secure a seat and then comes the
reservation system which makes it tougher to get entry for the general candidates.

I also learned from YouTube videos that the majority of students in India today prefer to continue their education in foreign
universities. Due to intense rivalry, entrance to a reputable college or university in India is quite difficult. Because India is
the second most populous nation, there aren't as many seats as there are applications. In addition to passing entrance
examinations and GD/PI rounds in order to enroll in a reputable university, India has reservation and quota policies that
make it challenging to be accepted even with a strong GPA. India currently lags far behind developed nations like Australia,
the United States of America, the United Kingdom, and Canada in terms of educational thought and practice. The persistent
problems with schooling among the Indian Universities and colleges need improvement.

On the other hand, An international study will give me exposure to a new country, new culture, and a new lifestyle.
Moreover, it will make me independent, more adaptable and resilient on a personal level. So I discussed it with my seniors
and family members and they all suggested that I apply for foreign universities where I can get entry without complications
and entrance exams. Hence I made up my mind for overseas education.

Why did I choose Polytechnic Institute of Australia

Well, after making the decision to study in Australia, I researched different colleges and universities for my desired degree.
Sydney, which in my opinion is the best place to live in Australia, is where I wanted to study. After doing extensive study, I
decided on the renowned Polytechnic Institute of Australia (PIA). PIA is a renowned provider of vocational education and
training with headquarters in Sydney, Australia. The institute is additionally known to provide a broad selection of
nationally regarded courses.

The Polytechnic Institute in Australia takes pride in offering excellent education that equips students with real-world
knowledge and skills. The Institute's knowledgeable faculty takes steps to guarantee that their students are prepared for the
workforce. The Tertiary Education Quality Agency in Australia has accredited PIA, and as a registered provider with
CRICOS, PIA also offers courses to overseas students. The Institute is located in Sydney and aids in fostering a welcoming,
imaginative, and secure environment for international students to discover their potential as experts.

Additionally, PIA has cutting-edge facilities where I can pursue my undergraduate degree. The Institute seeks to engage
communities, generate and distribute information, encourage students' lifelong learning abilities, and train experts to the
highest standards. To achieve these goals, experts predict that PIA will develop into a well-known and client-focused
provider of excellent higher education courses. Some of the factors that made me choose PIA are-

 Location - The institute is situated in Sydney which is my preferred location

 Tuition fee- it has quite economical tuition fee compared to other providers I researched
 Classroom size- PIA has small classroom size where I can get individual attention
 Faculty- PIA has excellent faculty
 Entry requirements- The institute has flexible entry requirements which make it easy for admission

Before deciding on studying at PIA, I also opted for other options such as: Victoria University, Monash University,
University of South Australia, UTS, Southern Cross University, and Torrens University however upon comparing PIA
seemed more economical. Moreover, nearest intakes for the same course were not available in many universities like La
Trobe or Deakin. Location was also a factor in choosing PIA over other universities.

Scope in Accounting Financial

Accounting careers are always in demand since they are necessary for all types of businesses, including small and major
enterprises, regional shops and global corporations, medical facilities and advertising agencies. Since accounting is one of
the most prestigious professions in the world, it is necessary in every business. One of the financials with good salary and
quick career placement is accounting. The need for accountants is outstripping supply. In other words, there are more career
prospects than ever for accountants. Businesses have experienced the emergence of the Internet, stricter governmental
restrictions, and frequent changes in tax legislation, globalization of corporations, and ongoing shrinking and restructuring
throughout the past 20 years. As a result, there will be a greater need for accountants and more opportunity to pursue a
career in accounting.

If I analyze the whole picture, an accounting career is one of the most important financials in the finance industry. For the
purpose of maintaining financial records, the accounting profession summarizes, reports, and analyzes financial
transactions. This research examines how companies monitor their wealth and income over time. Accounting has become a
crucial aspect of our daily lives as a result of expanding economic and commercial activity. To manage the business books,
every business needs a team of accountant professionals. As a result, there are many chances for careers in accounting, and
employers of accountants—whether they are established companies of any size, startups, or governmental organizations—
are in high demand. https://www.accounting.com/resources/top-jobs-bachelor-in-accounting/ (supporting evidence)

Accountants evaluate the economic activity of people, businesses, non-profit organizations, and governmental organizations
both now and in the future. Accountants carry out a variety of activities, in addition to creating annual financial statements
and tracking transactions. Given the positive employment forecast in accounting, I think pursuing a career in this field is a
smart choice for me. I intend to work in my own country where prospects are abundant after earning my degree from PIA.
Among the numerous accounting career profiles I'd aim for are-

1. Auditor- An auditor verifies the quality and dependability of an organization's economic data and assessments.
Depending on the company or the type of auditor—internal, external, government, or forensic—the role of an auditor
might vary. (INR 8 LPA) https://www.salaryexpert.com/salary/job/auditor/india
2. Financial Analyst- A financial analyst's duties include evaluating a company's financial standing and providing
assistance with investment decisions. (INR 5 LPA) https://www.glassdoor.co.in/Salaries/financial-analyst-salary-
SRCH_KO0,17.htm
3. Forensic Accountant- One of the fastest-growing careers in law enforcement is forensic accounting. To deliver a legal
opinion in a court of law, forensic accountants conduct investigations into fraud and use accounting techniques like
audits. (INR 10 LPA) https://www.salaryexpert.com/salary/job/forensic-accountant/india
4. Managerial Accounting- The managerial accountant is in charge of planning, preparing, and analyzing costs and
profits for internal staff members. (INR 9 LPA) https://www.ambitionbox.com/profile/management-accountant-salary

I hope to get promoted to Chief Financial Officer (CFO), Senior Financial Analyst, Finance Manager, or
Administrator Accounting after having good 6-7 years of experience, and I can make up to 15 LPA, which will keep
increasing with time.

Ties to home country

As soon as I complete my studies in Australia, I want to go back to India because I have strong ties there. I have close
emotional ties to my community, family, friends, and other people in India. I'm solely seeking for this visa so I can pursue
high-quality education and build a successful future in my own country. I think staying in my own country would give me
greater financial and emotional security than moving to another country. My reasons for visiting India are as follows -

The enormous potential in accounting and finance are my main motivation for going back to India. When I made the
decision to study accounting, I thoroughly researched the job prospects in India for accounting graduates and discovered
that the need is steadily increasing. According to numerous statistics and polls, there is a significant need in India for
accounting specialists. Companies in India need astute and effective accountants to monitor the state of the company,
especially during trying times, as the financial world is continuously changing. Companies and even banks in India are
trying to engage individuals who are, needless to say, up to date with financial advancements and can keep up with the
times. By 2025 there will be 2 lakhs new jobs available for corporate accountants and 1 lakh for management
accountants.

By 2024, it is predicted that the accounting and financial sector would have added $250 billion in yearly revenue and
45 million new employment. Because these are the industries that are most directly or indirectly tied to the expansion
of other industries, BFSI, or banking, financial services, and insurance, are more important than other services.
According to polls, the need for accounting degrees is expected to rise by 20% in 2025. As many as 9 out of 10 top
financial industry recruiters in India are committed to hiring applicants with accounting-related business degrees.
Jobs for accountants and auditors are anticipated to expand by 4% between 2019 and 2029, according to the Bureau
of Labor Statistics, which is on pace with the anticipated average for all occupations.

In India the accounting services market is expected to prosper at a remarkable rate during the upcoming years. The Indian
accounting services market is steered by government ambitions which will create employment opportunities in the country.
The rise has drastically improved the working population in the country. Additionally, the introduction of GST is further
expected to create lucrative possibilities for accounting graduates. Furthermore, the government of India is likely to allow
multinational firms where 2 million jobs will be available for Auditors, and Accountants.

Following economic reforms, the accounting and financial sectors' contributions increased, reaching more than 60%
with a yearly growth rate of more than 10%. By 2024, it is predicted that the accounting and financial sector would
have added $250 billion in yearly revenue and 45 million new employment. Because these are the industries that are
most directly or indirectly tied to the expansion of other industries, BFSI, or banking, financial services, and insurance, are
more important than other services. The future outlook for accounting experts is frequently correlated with the strength of
the nation's economy; as the economy grows, more accountants, auditors, and other professionals who maintain financial
records are typically required. Globalization and increased regulations will also impact the demand for accountants in the
future.

India is in a fine spot of economy presently with the huge demand for skilled personnel for jobs and in spite of the huge
unemployed population, the corporate world is not finding suitably skilled and equipped workforce in India. Therefore it
will be easy for me to seek employment here easily. On the other hand, in a developed nation, I won’t get any advantage
which I can get in India with this international degree.

My family, friends, and the area where I grew up and want to live forever are my second motivation for returning. I want to
continue to help my father and grandparents because they have played such an important part in my life. In addition, since
my mother passed away in 2003, my father has raised me and taken care of all of my needs. When I return, it is my
job to assume his responsibility. Indians are also accustomed to living with and caring for their parents. I'm not any
different, which is why I want to go back to them. I've spent my entire life in India, and I don't want to relocate to a
country with a different culture. I will therefore definitely return.

Furthermore, with this foreign degree, I have a much higher chance of landing a job in India than I have in Australia, where
I must compete with local talent. Additionally, I am comfortable here thanks to my pals. Additionally, I wish to work for my
own country and contribute to its development.

Financial Stability

On deciding to study abroad in Australia, me and my family were well aware of the financial requirements I would require
for tuitions fees and living expenses. By God’s grace, I would also like to inform that my family is financially stable and
capable of taking care of this program and my future in Australia. My Grandfather Mr. Hazari Lal is a government
pensioner and my Father Mr. Manmohan Lal is an ex-serviceman and currently works at Punjab National Bank. We
have family savings of INR 13,62,000/- ($24,763 AUD) along with an annual income of INR 10,06,115/- ($18,293 AUD).
My family also has a net worth of INR 2,35,70,000/- ($428545 AUD) that includes movable and immovable assets. Hence,
I will not have to worry about any financial requisites and can concentrate on my studies and bring proud to my family, PIA,
and home country.

Also, I want to mention that presently I am not working as I am a recent school pass out, however, after acquiring education
from Australia, I am sure to be a well paid and a highly-demanded employee keeping in view my international degree. Also,
according to the Hindu Law, that states to inherent the ancestral possessions to the future offspring, I am therefore liable to
take care of all the properties that my family possesses.

Travel History

This is my first time applying for a student visa, and I have no prior travel history. I am excited about the opportunity to
pursue my education in Australia and immerse myself in a different culture. Although I haven't traveled before, I am fully
committed to making the most of this experience and am ready to embrace the challenges and opportunities that come with
studying abroad. I have carefully researched about PIA and Australia, and am confident that this is the right path for my
academic and personal growth.

Accommodation in Australia

As an international student planning to study in Australia, I am still in the process of deciding on my accommodation. I
understand the importance of finding the right place that suits my needs and budget. I am exploring various options, such as
university accommodation, shared apartments, or home stays, to make an informed decision.

My priority is to find a safe and comfortable environment that allows me to focus on my studies and immerse myself in the
Australian culture. I will carefully weigh my choices and make a well-informed decision before starting my academic
journey in Australia.

I Am Applying For Student Visa Which Comes Under Subclass 500

The visa allows me to pursue a higher degree in Australia with the following conditions; -

 I can work a maximum of 40 hours per fortnight when my course is in session and unlimited hours during vacations.
 I cannot undertake work until he has started their course in Australia.
 I have to update my college for my residential address within 7 days of arriving in Australia.
 I also have to achieve satisfactory academic performance and program/course progress for all studies and maintain at
least an 80%attendance record during studies.
 I must have health insurance while in Australia.

Conclusion

I assure that I will study and perform to the best of my abilities and hope to acquire skills that will help me realize my
dreams. Also, I want to express my heartfelt gratitude to PIA for enabling me to express my genuine intentions to study in
the respected institute and Australia. The opportunity to pursue higher education in such a prestigious and diverse academic
landscape is a dream come true. With your support, I am confident that I will be able to achieve my academic and career
aspirations.

Finally, I would like to mention that I have no connections in Australia and my sole motive is to qualify with a better
education and a golden future in India. Therefore, after the successful completion of this course, I will go back to my home
country. I am committed to making the most of this chance to grow, learn, and contribute to society. Thank you once again
for considering my application, and I am excited about the prospect of studying in Australia with PIA’s valuable assistance
and guidance.
