Justification

Sporting facilities are very important in every township and not merely selling every piece of
existing land for development. You find public sporting facilities in suburbs or townships in other
countries. We truly believe this will lead to sporting success. Sport activities play a very vital role in
the development of mental strength and physical fitness of a body. It is necessary to emphasize sports
along with other physical activities. In our opinion, insufficient quantity of courts and sports facilities
cause students to lose interest in sports. Especially in futsal and volleyball. For futsal, there are only
two futsal courts provided by UTeM to students and students often need to wait for minimum 20 to 40
minutes to play. It is because there are many groups of student from different course in one court. For
example in Satria College, sometimes students from other colleges come to Satria futsal court to play
together and it will affect the student that stay in Satria. In sport complex, there are two futsal court
provided by university, but it is still not enough for all students in UTeM. This is because there are too
many students from every faculty to share the limited court. Other than that, for volleyball, there are
two main problems which are the lacking of the spot light and the limited courts. The lacking of the
spot light at the volleyball courts cause the playing time to be limited causing the students to play only
at evening. For limited court problem, there are only three courts provided in university and all of them
are outdoor. UTeM does not have any indoor court for volleyball. It will cause all thousands of students
in university can only play in those insufficient court. In shorts, this problem needed to be solved by
the school authorities also has to bring up interest in the sport aspect. On the other hand, the university
has sufficient space to train athletes who will be representing our university to play at a higher level.
