College Exploration Essay

I always wanted to attend college in either UC davis, but Solano community college was

the best school if I wanted to stay close to home. I have explored multiple other colleges, but

these two were the first two I had seen when I wanted to discover what I wanted in a college and

my future. I have decided to go to Solano community college and then transfer to UC davis

The trip to UC davis was organized by a group of friends to help us decide on what

school we wanted to attend either the following semester or following year. My first reaction to

the school was that it was incredibly well kept and and large. It had an incredible gym and

cafeteria. While I was touring this campus I felt like I was in a small city. This was a very cool

idea for those studying a certain subject because they can have a designated area for their major.

And since I went with friends who were currently enrolled at UC Davis i was also able to see the

dorms and they were very nice. After seeing the school, I was highly considering attending due

to the location and the wonderful campus.

Visiting Solano community college was a spur of the moment tour because we were

around vacaville and I wanted to get used to where I might go. I visited it with my friend while

we were on spring break. It was a very small campus, it was still an option for me because

coming from Buckingham I was very used to a small school. The best part of the school and the
most appealing part was the ability to take classes right here in vacaville. It is very close to town,

which makes it a very good option for me. I thoroughly enjoyed my experience and it made it

very easy to choose a college.

After visiting both colleges I had a tough decision to make, but in the end I realized it

was ultimately going to be the right decision to make. I had decided to go to solano and then

Transfer to davis after two years. I might be missing out on the college freshman experience but

in the long run that's not going not matter.
