Captain’s Log:

INT. Kingstown Corridors

KENNETH is strolling across the hallways of the ship. He stops
for a moment and waves at EMMA in the hallway. EMMA curls up
into a ball and lies there on the floor. KENNETH thinks for a
moment, and decides to disregard this, and continues to walk
forward.

KENNETH (V.O) (Cont.)
Stardate 46765.86757990.
It has been five days since the cataclysm caused by Control, an
old artificial intelligence from the time of Captain Pike’s
Enterprise. It was believed to have been destroyed there and
then too, but it seems to have survived. I’ve been reading up on
my history. The secret files owned by Section 31 of Starfleet
have been released to the public. Control was dangerous enough,
but now the public is expecting us, the remainder of starfleet
to rise up and fix it’s problems. The one’s caused by Section
31. Earth was made into labor camps when Control gained power,
and the people need someone to blame, or someone to help them
establish their lives again. But how can we, a ship filled with
drop outs and incompetents manage to do that? It’s a conundrum.

KENNETH, still walking, notices GABE, talking excitedly and very
quickly to an annoyed MAGNOLIA. MAGNOLIA gestures for KENNETH to
get her out of this situation.
2

KENNETH realizes that the only way to do that is to talk to

GABE, making him focus on himself. His face makes a face of
pained politeness and he walks away faster.

KENNETH (V.O.) (Cont.)
Control, in a way, was right. There’s no way we can ever work on
a team if we remain like this. I’ve been giving out commissions
to some of the people we picked out on Vulcan. Lt. Amber Moore
is our new pilot, and is only slightly better than the old one.
The old pilot was a decaying skeleton. She evidently still has a
concussion from Eden conking her on the head, which Doctor Shawn
can’t or won’t cure, so she can’t fly the ship straight, but
none of us really can do anything professionally, so somehow,
she’s our best bet. Either way, that brings us to Eden.
Eden. Eden Hauser. Where do I start? From the moment she’s
boarded the ship, she’s been a partier and a disruptive
influence. She also won’t leave, because she doesn’t have
anywhere else to go. I’ve made her a Counselor. A lot of the
crew lost family members when Control’s machine exploded. We
need a Counselor. Eden’s idea of a counselor is someone who
gives people free drinks. The fact that this actually helps some
people is beyond me. I run this crew, but hell if I understand
it.
Crewman Julien is our last new addition. Nobody knows what
species he is. It’s not on record. He does insist he’s tall for
his species. Also, nobody can get him out of the massive piece
of machinery we beamed up. We’ve put the machinery on a
skateboard, but that doesn’t seem to help him get around that
much.
Why did we have to be the last of the federation?
End Log.

KENNETH, done ranting, finally stops walking and gets into a
turbolift at the end of the hallway and he jettisons elsewhere
on the ship.

INT. Kingstown Bridge

KENNETH enters the bridge. ELIOTT and ALEXA are the remaining
crew on the bridge.
ELIOTT
Captain on the bridge!

KENNETH
At ease.

Everyone calms down a bit.
ALEXA’s drone, at the main console, turns to KENNETH.

ALEXA
Captain, my sensors indicate a nearby planetoid.

KENNETH
What, what do you mean. We’re in the middle of space, going
towards Earth. There’s no planets between Vulcan and Earth.
Risa is on a completely different trajectory and so is Betazed.
How can there be a planet there?

ALEXA
That’s the most confusing thing, Captain. I cannot reconcile it
with known fact. All I know is that a planet that shouldn’t
exist suddenly does. Wait, hold on.

KENNETH
What?

ALEXA
The planet below has a chronitron signature. That indicates
heavy levels of deuterium.

4

KENNETH
What, huh? I failed my final Starfleet Exam, guys.

ELIOTT
We need it. The Warp Core Needs Some Of It To Work.

KENNETH
Set a course. Something Fishy’s going on here.

ALEXA
I’m receiving a signal, it appears to be a virus file, I’m
trying to lock it out.

KENNETH
What? From Where?

ALEXA’s drone falls onto the floor, seeming to enter a seizure.

KENNETH
Eliott, get us to that planetoid. Whatever’s happened to Alexa,
It’s definitely coming from that planet.

ELIOTT
Yes, Captain.

JULIEN enters the bridge. Rolling on his massive box of
machinery.

JULIEN
I found some old Section 31 Schematics. We have a spore drive
now. I also found out that if I plug myself into it, It takes us
places, and I hallucinate.

KENNETH
6

How’d you figure that out?

JULIEN
Well, we’re in the nearby planets orbit, and I’m hallucinating,
Captain Shrek.

KENNETH
Okay.

He hits his communicator.

KENNETH (Cont.)
Magnolia, I want you, Julien, Shawn and Eden on an away team.
We need to get deuterium and something to fix Alexa.

JULIEN
I can fix her. Hey, Alexa, Play Despacito.

ALEXA
Extermination Protocols Online.
Venting Neurotoxin.
Firing Phasers.

Phaser beams fire at julien and Kenneth.

JULIEN
Oh crap.

KENNETH
Everyone, evacuate the bridge!

KENNETH, JULIEN, ELIOTT and the Redshirts exit the bridge.
Most of the redshirts die anyway.

EXT. The Mysterious Planetoid: City Streets - Day

A transporter signal occurs and JULIEN, MAGNOLIA, SHAWN and EDEN
materialize on the planet. It seems stylized off of 1920s New
York, Chicago, or other similar cities, but most of the
buildings are rubble and brick. Brick Uniform houses line the
street, and go on for hundreds of miles into the distance. And
The Rubble goes on for miles as well.

MAGNOLIA
Set Phasers To Stun, Everyone. Remember The Prime Directive.

EDEN
The Prime What?

JULIEN
Do what my favorite Captain, Kathryn Janeway always did. IGNORE
IT.

EDEN
Can I have Phasers?

MAGNOLIA
You are a bartender. Who uses her own stock. You’d probably use
the entire charge blasting squirrels and placing them in your
hair.

EDEN
Don’t tell me how to live my life!

SHAWN
Honestly, if I see any squirrels, that crap is going down!

MAGNOLIA
8

This is a pre first contact species, so-

EDEN (Interjecting)
That sounds wrong.

MAGNOLIA
Stop. Did you hear that? There was a noise.

They hear a rustling noise, the movement of brick.

JULIEN
SET PHASERS TO KILL

MAGNOLIA
NOOOO

A man exits the rubble.

MAN
Greetings. I am Captain Jerk of The Federation Starship
Menterprise.

MAGNOLIA
Oh, my god.

JERK
Mr. Spook?

Two more men crawl out of the rubble.

MAN 2
Greetings. I am Captain Clerk of The Federation Starship
Kenterprise.

MAN 3
Greetings. I am Captain Quirk of The Federation Starship
Shenterprise.

JERK
9

The Holy Symbol!

He points at their uniform.

JERK (Cont.)
You will come with us.

EDEN
That sentence never ends well.

JULIEN
SET PHASERS TO KILL

SHAWN injects JULIEN with sedative.

SHAWN
Sure. We’ll come with you.

EDEN
Actually, I think He was having the right idea.

SHAWN waves his sedative needle threateningly.

EDEN
N-v-m.

7. 7.

EXT. Strange People’s Camp

The Group of Natives and Starfleet arrive at a camp. The ground
in the nearby area appears to have been scorched, many times.

EDEN
Woah. What is this?

MAGNOLIA
I actually, for once, have no idea.

10

SHAWN
My database doesn’t have anything about this.
EDEN
You have a database?

SHAWN
Yeah, it’s about medical treatment.

QUIRK
Silence!

The three Natives turn around.

CLERK
This is but our humble abode.

MAGNOLIA
Ok.

JERK
You may not visit such a place. It is not fit for the Gods.

MAGNOLIA
Wait, what, no, no, no, we aren’t gods!

SHAWN
Hey, Magnolia, Ever Seen Ghostbusters?

QUIRAEA appears.

QUIRAEA (Imitating Winston)
Ray, when someone asks if you are a god, you say, YES!

MAGNOLIA
Stop it.

QUIRAEA disappears.

CLERK
11

Look! How She Converses With The Spirits!

MAGNOLIA (deadpan)
It’s called Schizophrenia.

QUIRK
If she can converse with the spirits, she must be the holy one.

EDEN
If anyone here is holy, it’s me.

SHAWN
No, it’s me!

JULIEN
I’m unconscious!

They look at the unconscious Julien for a second and move on.

JERK
Yes, if they are all the holy one, they must be false gods.

CLERK
To stray us from the one true path!

EDEN
Actually, My God Status Just Got Revoked for a bit, I forgot to
buy the subscription package. Totally not a god.

SHAWN
Nope, not a god, just a superior holographic program.

QUIRK
Lead Them...Into The Bunker.

MAGNOLIA
That Sounds Bad.

12

QUIRK, CLERK and JERK lead them behind a hill, and show them a
vault door. They stand aghast, and it opens up. QUIRK, CLERK and
JERK push them inside.

8.
8.

INT. Bunker

MAGNOLIA, SHAWN and EDEN enter the room, rolling the still
unconscious JULIEN. They cautiously move closer into the room,
but they can’t see much. The room is completely dark, besides
the soft glow emanating out of JULIEN’S Machinery.

SHAWN
It’s a dark room. We All Stay Together. Monsters like picking
off people if they split up.

MAGNOLIA
How do you know that, holo-film cliches?

EDEN
It is pretty common knowledge. And Holofilms are great.

MAGNOLIA
Set Phasers To Stun.

EDEN looks at MAGNOLIA.

MAGNOLIA
Eden, Set Fists To Stun.

EDEN
I think we all know, that I do not have a stun setting.

SHAWN
Yeah, if she had one, wouldn’t we have already stopped her from
talking so much?

13

EDEN
Not that kind of stun setting, I was trying to say, that people
either don’t fight me or die horribly.

VOICE
I hope that I don’t have to fight you then.

MAGNOLIA
Who’s that?

A man steps out of the shadows. He’s wearing a green wraparound
uniform, like Kirk’s from the original series.

MAN
I’m Commander Campbell of The Federation Starship Nautilus.
Did you come to get me out of here? I see the uniforms changed.
Must have confused the natives.

MAGNOLIA
Federation? There are more of us left?

CAM
What? The federation was thriving last time I-
Oh, oh no.

EDEN
Oh, Oh, No, -What?

CAM
I placed myself in cryostasis to survive the crash, and the
computer said I had been in it for two hours, but-
Oh, god, I knew something was wrong with that cryo-chamber!
What year is it?

MAGNOLIA
2669.

14

CAM
Oh, oh my god. Oh my god. I’ve been in that broken cryo-chamber
for a lot longer than I thought. I woke up two weeks ago, and-

SHAWN
Calm down. Start at the beginning.
CAM
Okay. I’ve been in the ice since 2278, so bear with me.
Our ship was investigating an alien threat called the Tzenkethi.

EDEN
Zencatme?

MAGNOLIA
Tzenkethi. Alien Warrior Race run by an Autarch.

CAM
They fired on us, and we crashed. I used a stasis pod to eject
myself. And I guess I slept too long. Out of nowhere, the
inhabitants consider me a god, and shove me in here.

EDEN
So, what is this place?

CAM
I don’t know. However, because I’m a god to these people, I have
tricked them into building 32 ion generation thrusters. I’m
flying a planet. And once I activate the necessary controls, all
their memory of me will be wiped, and the prime directive
remains intact.

MAGNOLIA
Sweet.

EDEN
What do you need our help with?

CAM
Well, I don’t have the power to do it.
15

MAGNOLIA
We can fix that.

She flips open her communicator.

MAGNOLIA (Cont.)
Gabe, beam us to the nearest source of deuterium nearby.

GABE (V.O.)
Okay, would you like to suffocate?

EDEN
C’mon, it’s obvious the deuterium is underground, Commander.

MAGNOLIA
It doesn’t matter, I guess. Gabe, where’s the nearest deuterium
mine?

GABE (V.O.)
Primitive People mining explosive deuterium? I’m not beaming you
there, it goes against starfleet safety regulations.

SHAWN
Hi, buddy, are you talking about starfleet regulations when
Starfleet doesn’t exist?

GABE (V.O.)
Yes, Captain’s Orders.

SHAWN
If there’s a starfleet safety regulation around here, it’s you,
crapface-

MAGNOLIA (Interrupting)
And Enough of that!
Can you get Alexa to calculate the average of deuterium
available per square mile?

16

GABE (V.O.)
Sure.

Over the communicator, we hear GABE knocking things over.
The rumbling continues until he returns to his console.

GABE (V.O.)
Alexa, can you calculate the average of deuterium available per
square mile?

ALEXA (V.O.)
Three.

GABE (V.O.)
There you go, the average is three.

MAGNOLIA
That doesn’t help! Three- What-?

ALEXA (V.O.)
Three Blind Mice-
Three Blind Mice-
See how they run-

There’s a depowering noise.

GABE (V.O.)
Okay, I’m shutting Alexa off.

CAM
Okay. Can I have a phaser?

MAGNOLIA hands him one.

EDEN
Come on, you just met him!

CAM
Thanks.
17

SHAWN
We need to get that deuterium, no matter what happens. Let’s
stay on our target.

MAGNOLIA
But how can we get it without further hurting the culture of
these natives?

They turn, and see the bunker door open. A Man walks down and
meets them. The lights slowly illuminate them. He’s a native.
Another Follows him.

MAN
I’m Doctor Decoy and This is Mister Spook. You have been
identified by our leaders as false gods.

EDEN
False Gods? What?

DECOY
You may not deny it. The vote was unanimous. Usually our
religious leaders cannot agree on anything.

SHAWN
Hold on, Religious Leaders? Your Starfleet Fanboy-ness is a
religion?

MAGNOLIA
Honestly, I’m surprised you didn’t catch that sooner.

DECOY
It matters not. You will be put to death, as decrees sections
Eleven, Twenty Seven and Thirty One of The Starfleet Charter.

EDEN
Can I swear now?

18

MAGNOLIA
No.

EDEN
**** It!

9. 9.

EXT. Outside The Bunker

EDEN, CAM, MAGNOLIA and SHAWN are chained up by several natives,
JULIEN is dragged around on a wagon. He’s still unconscious. We
pan upwards, and see a massive, Roman-Esque Coliseum. The Group
Goes Inside...

10.
10.

EXT. Coliseum

The Coliseum is outdoors. It has no roof. Hundreds of natives in
their original series Starfleet Uniforms sit in the seats,
chanting maniacally. The Group is tied to Five Columns in the
center of the arena.
A woman in a Original Series Uniform Miniskirt walks up to them.

WOMAN
I am Commander BlueAura.

This is pronounced exactly like ‘Uhura.’

EDEN (To Cam)
How could you even tolerate this-

CAM
They thought I was a god until you showed up!

SHAWN
Less Bickering, More Let’s Get The Heck out of here-ing.
19

BLUEAURA
Do you have any final requests before we terminate you, false
gods?

MAGNOLIA
Yeah, I want to know something. Why do you really think that
We’re Gods. What happened here? This used to be a city filled
with completely ordinary business types, at least judging by the
rubble! Why did this suddenly become a Starfleet WannaBe
Convention?

BLUEAURA
No Requests Have Been Levied.

MAGNOLIA
My Only Request is that you answer the question!

SHAWN
My only request is that you let us go!

BLUEAURA
This is contradictory.

MAGNOLIA
Ignore Him, Just Tell Me! What are you people?

CAM
Ignore the two of them, according to the starfleet charter
Paragraph 923, we have a chance of survival utilizing the
traditional combative traditions of Mr. uh, Spook’s species.
I declare a Pon Farr Duel!

There is audible gasps.

MAGNOLIA
Are you made of stupid?

20

CAM (Whispering)
I’m buying us time.

MAGNOLIA (Loudly)
Buddy, You’re buying something you can’t fricking afford.

BLUEAURA
Let the Pon Farr Duel Commence! Mr. Spook!

MR SPOOK enters, brandishing a Vulcan Blade. It’s Called a
Lirpa.
He’s wearing Gladiator Armour.

BLUEAURA
The Accused Will Remain Unarmed.

SHAWN
Are you kidding me? Vulcans are three times faster and stronger
than humans, and you’re giving him gladiator gear? At least let
the man have an even playing field! You may have based your
culture on Starfleet but you’ve completely misunderstood it!

QUIRK, JERK, and CLERK yell out.

QUIRK
Kill them!

JERK
Shoot them in the face!

CLERK
ATTTAAACK!

BLUEAURA
No, the attack should be fair!

JERK
I outrank you!

21

CLERK
I outrank you too!

QUIRK
I do too!

SPOOK
And I’m Famous!

MAGNOLIA
Wait… I figured it out!
I figured out who these people are!

QUIRK
Kill her!

JERK
Kill her!

CLERK
Kill her too!

MAGNOLIA
Come on! Wouldn’t you want to know your history? You’ve been
having an apocalypse for almost 400 years.

DECOY
Come on, I wanna hear.

QUIRK
You’re a doctor, not a historian!

DECOY
**** You!

JERK
Okay, We’ll Listen. But We’re Still Going To Kill You, Right?

MAGNOLIA

EXT. THE PLANET - PAST

The Planet’s Many Chicago Buildings Look Stable. The City is
Thriving.

TEXT APPEARS: Previously on Star Trek

KIRK, SPOCK and MCCOY walk into view using archive footage.

MAGNOLIA (V.O.)
400 Years Ago, The Original Trio of Heroes Resided On The USS
Enterprise. Kirk, Spock and Mccoy. One day, they visited a
planet. The entirety of the planet was based on 1930s Chicago.
The Planet was originally visited by a Ship called the
Horizon...

A man named OMNYX is talking to them.

OMNYX
That’s The Book.

SPOCK
Captain? Gangsters. Chicago. Mobs. Published 1992. Where Did You
Get This?

OXMYX
The Book. They left it, the other ship. The Horizon.

23

SPOCK
This is the contamination, Captain. Astonishing. An entire
culture based on this.

MCCOY
You said they were imitative, and the book-

OXMYX
I don't want any more cracks about the Book.

Cut To Later

MCCOY
One book on the gangs of Chicago did all this. It's amazing.

SPOCK
They evidently seized upon that one book as the blueprint for an
entire society.

MCCOY
It's the Bible.

KIRK
In old Chicago, conventional government almost broke down. The
gangs nearly took over.

MCCOY
Yeah, well, Oxmyx is the worst gangster of all.

SPOCK
We may quarrel with Mister Oxmyx' methods, but his goal is
essentially the correct one. This society must become united or
it will degenerate into total anarchy.

KIRK
If this society broke down as the result of the Horizon's
influence, then the Federation's responsible, and we've got to
do something to straighten this mess out.
24

Later....

MAGNOLIA (V.O.)
The crew soon decided to blend in.

MCCOY, SPOCK and KIRK walk in wearing gangster suits.

KIRK
All right! All right! All right! All right! Now the
Federation's taking over whether you like it or not. You people,
you've been running this planet like a piecework factory. From
now on, it's going to be under one roof. You're going to run it
like a business. That means you're going to make a profit.

TEPO
And what's your percentage?

KIRK
I'm cutting the Federation in for forty percent. You got any
objections?

TEPO
Yeah! I hear a lot of talk, but all I see here is you and a
couple of your boys. I don't see no Federation.

KRAKO
Listen. They got a ship. I know. I was there.

OXMYX
Wait a minute. Wait a minute. Tepo's got a point. All we ever
seen is them.

TEPO
What, a couple of boys?

KIRK takes out his communicator.

25

KIRK
Scotty, this is Kirk. Scotty, put the ship's phasers on stun.
Fire a burst in a one-block radius around these coordinates.

SCOTT
Right away, sir. Scott out.

The street outside is filled with green light, and everyone
falls down. The watching bosses are stunned into silence for a
moment.
KRAKO
Gee, that's some trick.

OXMYX
Hey, did you see that?

KIRK
They're not dead, just knocked out for a while. But they might
just as well have been that way if we wanted them to.

OXMYX
Okay, okay, Kirk, so we get the message. Now, what was this
syndicate deal you were talking about?

MAGNOLIA (V.O.)
Kirk negotiated peace with you. But he forgot you have a highly
imitative culture. You used a Historical Document As A Bible.
And Soon, Stories About Captain Kirk Came Along. And They Became
Distorted. Kirk became Quirk, Or Jerk, or Clerk. Your different
Religious Beliefs, altering over 400 years.

CUT TO: Religious Worshippers Following QUIRK, and another
following JERK, and another for CLERK.

CUT TO: These Religious People Charging, and attacking each
other.

MAGNOLIA (V.O.)
War about these beliefs decimated your planet.
26

CUT TO: A Bright Green Explosion.

FADE OUT:

FADE IN:

EXT. COLISEUM

MAGNOLIA
Now do you get it? If you don’t let us go, we can’t fix your
culture. And endless war about useless historical figures
because of us won’t happen.

QUIRK
You’re wrong!

SHAWN
Do you have no brain cells, man?

MAGNOLIA
Now. Let us go. Please. You’ve had your piece of the action, and
it may have given you belief, but in the long run it hurt you.
Let us go.

DECOY
Oh my god.

JERK (Hamming Like William Shatner)
Belief in our gods is never wrong! I won’t let you! I won’t let
you!

CLERK
I’m Captain Clerk! I’m Captain Clerk!

SPOOK stands there. Dumbfounded. He slowly looks up. And Raises
His Hand. He performs a skewed vulcan salute. He walks forward.
And Hands Magnolia a communicator.

SPOOK
Live Long and Prosper.

MAGNOLIA
Magnolia to Kingstown. Five To Beam Up. Without Being Tied Up,
Please.

MAGNOLIA, EDEN, SHAWN, JULIEN and CAMPBELL dematerialize and
their ropes hit the ground.

JERK
Spook? Why’d you do that?

SPOOK
It is illogical for this to continue. They can fix things.

BLUEAURA
Let’s hope they can.

MAGNOLIA exits the transporter room. She walks up to KENNETH.

MAGNOLIA
Spook left us something. And I have a solution.

KENNETH
Figure it out. Your mission, Commander.

She Exits.

MAGNOLIA (V.O.)
Personal Log. Mr. Spook has supplied us with the Deuterium we
needed to fix Alexa. But I’ve found something far better here.
Understanding of a culture. And How Even The Best- The
Enterprise- Can Make Mistakes. The Prophets Know We Will, For
Heck’s Sake. But Anyway. Campbell’s thrusters that he built
knocked the planet off it’s axis. 23rd Century Engineering,
Fellas. I’ve learned a lot here, but what I’m happiest about, is
the fact that I’ve left Mr. Spook and the people of Sigma Iotia
II a parting gift.

The Original Series Inspired People Crowd Around A Box.

MAN
It just appeared!

WOMAN
Out of nowhere!

What is it?

MR. SPOOK steps out of the crowd and walks towards the box. He
slowly opens it. QUIRK begrudgingly follows him.
SPOOK raises a book out of the box.
We see it in the light.
It’s two books. Copies of:

Imitative Cultures, And The People Of Sigma Iota II
By Doctor Leonard Mccoy and Spock of Vulcan

And
Learning How To Be Yourself
By Magnolia Longworth

QUIRK
The people of the stars have delivered again.

SPOOK
Indeed.

QUIRK
The New Bibles Have Arrived.

The people on the planet smile. They don’t know what it’s like
to live without imitation. They’re eager to learn. They sit
down, and begin to read.
