About Me
Hello! I am very excited to start this semester with you as Miss Rudder’s student
teacher. You might be wondering what a student teacher is. What this means is that I
am in the process of finishing up my degree at Colorado State University for
Agricultural Education, and this is the final stage of applying what I have learned and
being coached and mentored by Miss Rudder to become the best teacher I can be. I
will be working closely with her the rest of the semester and learning a lot about the
Agricultural Education program by doing hands on learning and actively teaching.
I am originally from Delta, CO where my family is involved in a small cow/calf
operation and grows grass/alfalfa hay. I was a 7 year 4-H member and involved in
FFA all 4 years of my high school career. My favorite projects were Market Beef and
Leathercraft. I was also a part of high school band in concert, jazz, and marching
band. Between 4-H, FFA, and band, I found the value of relationships and how much
they inspire us to do what we do. My ag teacher and the many mentors I’ve had
made a huge impact on my life, and I wanted to continue to pass that on to others, so
I combined that with my passion for agriculture and decided to become an
agriculture teacher.
My personal goals for teaching this semester are:
 Provide relevant, hand on learning
 Develop meaningful relationships with students, staff, and community
members
 Be an active part of your community
 Learn about agriculture in Lincoln County
 Have Fun!
I will also be participating in the Limon FFA Chapter as an advisor and helping out
with FFA events. I am very excited to be here in your wonderful community and start
practicing teaching. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to reach out
through my email or calling my cell. Here’s to a great semester!

Classroom, Laboratory and Course Expectations

This semester is going to be full of growth and experimenting for all of us. It will not
always be easy, but I fully expect all of us to be accountable for our attitudes and
what we do in class. Here are my expectations for the semester:

 Try, even when it is hard

 Wear your safety equipment AT ALL TIMES in the lab
 Come to class on time
 Fix it, don’t forget it- If there is a problem, let me know
 Be respectful- of the class supplies, your peers, and Miss Rudder and I

Good Things to Know

Shop Days- I will let you know ahead of time what days we will be in the shop so you
can be prepared with the proper clothing. The goal is to be in the shop working on
skills at least once a week.

Absences- Many of you are involved in other extra-curricular activities- Awesome!

That means you will probably miss a few days of class, and that is all right. It will be
your job to catch up by asking for the class notebook or asking your peers what we
did that day. I am also always here to help.
