Procedure by using LUSAS:

1. Create a model by entering the coordinates of the model. The length of the model is
0.6m
2. Join the line to obtain a full view of the model
3. The line features are meshed using 2D beam element in Attributes -> Mesh -> Line
and input the element description and number of divisions.

4. Enter the Dimensional properties in Attributes -> Geometric -> Isotropic. The
properties is chosen from the library.
5. Enter the material properties manually by Attribute -> Material -> Isotropic. Enter
the material information such as Young’s modulus, Poisson Ratio and Mass Density

6. Enter the structural support by Attributes -> Support and choose the Translation and
Rotation for both fixed and roller support condition.

Roller Support Fixed Support

7. Enter the loading of the structure by Attributes -> Loading and choose Concentrated
Load. Enter the given suspended load in the question which is 50N. After that,
Attributes -> Loading -> Body Force and enter the self-weight of the truss which is
9.81N

8. Then, input all the truss properties by dragging all the properties into the truss
structure and run the LUSAS ( = SOLVE NOW )
9. The deflection of the truss is shown below

10. The results of internal members of the truss is shown below
