 Reflection

My lesson was about multiplication by three factors. I model for the students an example in the book and
show it to the student. I used counters to model (Draw and label the models). For example (2 x 3) x 3  2
groups of 3, three times. Multiply the factors inside the parentheses first. (2 x 3). Multiply the product by
the remaining factor. So, (2 x 3) x 3 = 18

The lesson was for grade 3 boys and girls. At the beginning of the lesson, I write an example
from the book in the whiteboard by steps to make the students understand. After that, when I
finish modeling, I write an example on the board, and I asked the students to show me how to
solve my steps.

The students were responded to me because, in the beginning, I model for them in steps. For the
master, I gave them a flash card, students in this group they have challenging equations, and I
will state a timer for 15 minutes and watch them. For developing, the activity was about draw
and model, the student has had an equation and draw and model it for example, (2 x 2) x 3 = 12.
For emergent, the activity was about shape and solved, I gave the students a manipulative and
shapes with the equation, and they were a model and solved the problem. For example, (3x3)x2.

I didn’t match my goal, the students were a little noisy, and they didn’t understand correctly. In
the future, I will use a better way to explain to them the activities.
