The Wolf Plays The Flute

A very good morning to the honourable judges and my fellow friends.

Today I am going to tell a story on the wolf plays the flute for the

clever lamb.

A wolf carried off a lamb. The lamb said, " I know you are going to eat

me, but before you eat me I would like to hear you play the flute. I

have heard that you can play the flute better than anyone else, even

the shepherd himself."

The wolf was so pleased at this that he took out his flute and began to

play.

When he had done, the lamb insisted him to play once more and the

wolf played again.

The shepherd and the dogs heard the sound, and they came running up

and fell on the wolf and the lamb was able to get back to the flock.

The end. Thank you very much.

The Hungry Mouse

A very good morning to the honourable judges and my fellow friends.

Today I am going to tell a story on the hungry mouse.

A mouse was having a very bad time. She could find no food at all. She

looked here and there, but there was no food, and she grew very thin.

At last the mouse found a basket, full of corn. There was a small hole

in the basket, and she crept in. She could just get through the hole.

Then she began to eat the corn. Being very hungry, she ate a great

deal, and went on eating and eating. She had grown very fat before she

felt that she had had enough.

When the mouse tried to climb out of the basket, but she could not.

She was too fat to pass through the hole.

" How shall I climb out?" said the mouse.

Just then a rat came along, and he heard the mouse.

"Mouse," said the rat, "if you want to climb out of the basket, you must

wait till you have grown as thin as you were when you went in."

This story teach us to think things through.

The end. Thank you very much.

The Boy Who Cried Wolf

A very good morning to the honourable judges and my fellow friends.

Today I am going to tell a story on the boy who cried wolf.

One day, a shepherd-boy, who watched a flock of sheep near a village,

brought out the villagers three or four times by crying out, "Wolf!

Wolf!" and when his neighbors came to help him, laughed at them for

their pains.

The Wolf, however, did truly come at last. The Shepherd-boy, now

really alarmed, shouted in an agony of terror but no one paid any

attention to his cries, nor rendered any assistance. The Wolf, having no

cause of fear, at his leisure lacerated or destroyed the whole flock.

The moral of the story is, we must not tell lies. Thank you.
One Nut and Two Boys

A very good morning to the honourable judges and my fellow friends.

Today, I am going to tell a story on one nut and two boys.

Two little boys were playing together. One little boy saw a nut on the

ground. Before he could pick it the other boy took it.

The first boy demanded, "Give me the nut. It's mine. I only saw it

first".

The other boy replied, "It's mine. I only took it".

This led to a quarrel between these two little boys. Just then a tall boy

came that way. Upon seeing the quarrel between the boys, he said,

"Give me the nut and I'll settle your quarrel".

He split the nut into two parts. He took out the fruit-seed. He gave

one half-shell to one boy and the other half-shell to the other. He put

the fruit seed into his mouth and said, "This is for settling your

quarrel".

The moral of the story is, we must not fight or someone else will gain

from that fight. Thank you.

The Honest Woodcutter

A very good morning to the honourable judges and my fellow friends.

Today, I am going to tell you about the honest woodcutter. Once upon a
time there was a poor woodcutter. He was very poor but he was always
honest. One hot day, he took his axe and went inside the nearby forest
in search of wood.

Oh no! As the woodcutter was cutting the woods, his axe slipped from
his hands and fell inside the river. The river was very deep. So he
couldn't get into the water to take his axe out. He started crying.
“ Oh..oh..what am I going to do?”

Suddenly, a beautiful angel appeared from inside the river water.

“ Why are crying my dear woodcutter?” She asked.
“ Oh, I have lost my axe…now I won’t be able to cut woods anymore.”
The angel went inside the water and after some time came out with a
golden axe in her hands. The woodcutter refused to accept that golden
axe. The angel again went inside the water. This time she came out with
a silver axe and gave it to the woodcutter. Again, the woodcutter
refused saying that his was not a silver axe. The angel dived into the
water. This time she came out with the woodcutter's iron axe. The
woodcutter happily accepted his axe and thanked the angel. The angel
was pleased with his honesty. The angel rewarded the gold and the
silver axes to that woodcutter. The moral of the story is honesty
always gets rewarded. Thank you.
The Cat And The Fox

A very good morning to the honourable judges and my fellow friends.

Today I am going to tell a story on the cat and the fox.

A cat and a fox were once discussing about hounds.

The cat said, "I hate hounds. They are very nasty animals. They hunt

and kill us".

The fox said, "I hate hounds more than you".

The cat asked, "How do you save yourself from hounds?"

The fox replied, "There are many tricks to get away from hounds".

The cat asked, "Can you say what your tricks are?"

"They are very simple", said the fox. He added, "I can hide behind

thick bushes. I can run along thorny hedges. I can hide in burrows.

There are many more such tricks".

The fox asked, "How many tricks do you know?"

The cat replied, "I know just one trick".

The Fox sneered, "Oh! How sad! You know only one trick? What is your

trick?"
The cat was about to answer. But she found a flock of hounds fast

approaching. She said, "I am going to do it now. Because the hounds are

coming".

Saying these words, the cat ran up a nearby tree safe from the

hounds. The fox tried all his tricks, but the hounds out beat him. "My

one trick is better than all his tricks", said the cat to herself. The

moral of the story is, it is better to be a master of one art than to be

a jack of many arts. Thank you.
