Summer Internship at Amnesty International India

About The Organization

Indians for Amnesty International Trust (IAIT), in its 6+ years of operations, has established
itself as a leading NGO in the creation of human rights impact on key human rights concerns
including gender based violence, human rights education, undertrials in the criminal justice
system, human rights defenders and impunity.
About the Project: One of the most popular of Amnesty’s many programs is the Gender and
Identity Program. GI team at Amnesty International India is offering multiple internship positions
to young people to be Amnesty Decoders.
Decoders is a global network of digital volunteers, all using their computers or phone to help
Amnesty's researchers sort through pictures, documents and information and track and expose
human rights violations. Interns will help analyze and review the documents, information and
images.
Job Description

Reports To: Senior Campaigner Activism


Duration: 1 – 2 month

Location: Remote/Home Based/ Delhi/ Bengaluru

Job Responsibilities
Interns are expected to review and analyses the allocated number of images and text.
Engage in offline campaigning
Interns have the opportunity to take part in the research projects and strategy meetings.
Recruit new decoders.
Work collaboratively with Amnesty members, staff and other volunteer leaders to grow and
strengthen the organization’s capacity.
Location and Time Commitment:
Most of the Interns work will be conducted from home, via email or phone. Training is provided.
The position is unpaid, but certain internship-related expenses may be reimbursed.
