1. Summarize the coherence of light
In laser technology, coherent light shows a light source
that emits an identified wavelength of the same frequency, a
constant phase difference and its polarization. Coherent light
is used to get the parameters that can measure the quality of an
interference. There are two kinds of coherence. Those are
Temporal Coherence and Spatial Coherence. Temporal Coherence
(Time Coherence) implies a polarized wave at one frequency that
this phase correlates with a relatively large distance (coherence
length) along the beam. A beam produced by a thermal or other
light source is incoherent. The momentary amplitude and phase
vary randomly with time and position, and thus the length of the
coherence is very short. The length of the coherence of a
particular wave, such as a laser or other source can be explained
from the following equation:

𝐿𝑐 = 𝐶𝜏𝑐 = , 𝐶 = 𝑉𝑒𝑙𝑜𝑐𝑖𝑡𝑦 𝑜𝑓 𝑙𝑖𝑔ℎ𝑡

Time coherence = ∆𝑡~ , ∆𝑉 = 𝑙𝑖𝑔ℎ𝑡 𝑏𝑎𝑛𝑑

Spatial Coherence is the same as the phase relationship between
waves running side by side, at the same time spatial coherence
refers to the continuity and uniformty of waves in a
perpendicular direction. The Spatial Coherence depends on the
emitter size and its distance.

2. Describe a method to measure the coherence of light
There are some methods to measure the coherence of light.
A common method for producing two coherent light is to use a
monochromatic source to illuminate a barrier containing two
small opening (usually in the shape of slits). Thomas Young was
conducted an experiment about interference in light from two
sources.
