Anti-war songs

Imagine by John Lennon

Imagine there's no heaven,

It's easy if you try, When you think about religions it is easy to
think that they are not real due to the lack of
No hell below us,
evidence.
Above us only sky,
If people where to not act on belief or religion,
Imagine all the people living for today... but instead only acted on what they wanted to
do the world would also act differently?

Imagine there's no countries,

If everyone was treated equally then there
It isn’t hard to do, would be less violence.
Nothing to kill or die for, If there was not disagreements due to different
No religion too, decisions made by different countries or
disagreements on beliefs then there would
Imagine all the people living life in peace... most likely be no more wars, thus everyone
would be able to live more peaceful lives
without the worry of war.
Imagine no possessions,
If people were not so greedy then there would
I wonder if you can, definitely be less conflict.
No need for greed or hunger, If people would be able to overcome such a feat
as greediness, then solving world hunger or
A brotherhood of man,
helping people who are unemployed would also
Imagine all the people be easier, everyone would help everyone.

Sharing all the world...

You may say I’m a dreamer,

But I’m not the only one, Having more people agree with the things
mentioned in this song would most likely peer
I hope someday you'll join us,
pressure other to giving in and becoming
And the world will live as one. “forced” to be less greedy.

Eve Of Destruction by Barry McGuire Schreib Young men who were not deemed enough to
The eastern world it tis explodin', vote were still sent to fight in America’s war.
Violence flarin', bullets loadin',

You’re old enough to kill but not for votin',

If someone truly doesn’t want to do something
You don't believe in war, what's that gun you're totin', they can just not do it, if someone said they
And even the Jordan River has bodies floatin', don’t believe in war then they should uphold
But you tell me over and over and over again my friend,
that belief by not taking part in it.

Ah, you don't believe we're on the eve of destruction. People assume that “hippies” are only talking
Don't you understand, what I'm trying to say?
crazy due to the label they have been given by
the media.
Can't you see the fear that I'm feeling today?

If the button is pushed, there's no running away,

There'll be none to save with the world in a grave, If we go looking for a fight we will find it and it
most likely won’t end well.
Take a look around you, boy, it's bound to scare you, boy,

But you tell me over and over and over again my friend,

Ah, you don't believe we're on the eve of destruction.

Yeah, my blood's so mad, feels like coagulatin',

The truth no madder how dark or how true will
I'm sittin' here, just contemplatin',
still be the truth and nothing can change that.
I can't twist the truth, it knows no regulation,

Handful of Senators don't pass legislation,

And marches alone can't bring integration,

While it is said that people are what run the
nation, the citizens can’t seem to do a thing in
When human respect is disintegratin',
order to avoid war that was not decided by
This whole crazy world is just too frustratin', them.
And you tell me over and over and over again my friend,

Ah, you don't believe we're on the eve of destruction.

Think of all the hate there is in Red China!

Then take a look around to Selma, Alabama!

If the US decided to go to war without the
citizens having a say then they should at least
Ah, you may leave here, for four days in space,
leave the citizens out of the problems they have
But when you return, it's the same old place, started for them.
The poundin' of the drums, the pride and disgrace,
While some soldiers may have fought against
You can bury your dead, but don't leave a trace, the cause of peace but they are still people that
Hate your next-door-neighbour, but don't forget to say grace, have been through a lot so they shouldn’t be
deemed horrible because they were most likely
And you tell me over and over and over and over again my friend,
forced into the war.
Ah, you don't believe we're on the eve of destruction.

likely causes negativity and should be avoided.

In order to have peace then peace should be more talked about
This-ism, that-ism, ism ism ism and should come into thought when making a decision which
leads to peace as a result of said decision.
All we are saying is give peace a chance

People are becoming more relative when talking about those in

give them the power which they might not know
