NATIONALS HISTORY
May 8 (6-6)
2012 – Just minutes after Adam LaRoche hit a go-ahead two-run homer in the top of the ninth inning, Rod
Barajas matched the heroics, hitting a game-ending two-run shot as Pittsburgh bested the Nationals, 5-4,
at PNC Park. Barajas’ decisive blast spoiled what would have been a fun storyline for the Nationals, as
LaRoche’s late homer was the 1,000th long ball hit by the Nationals since the team relocated to The District
in 2005.
