1.Needs assessment is the process of evaluating the organization, individual employees and
employees tasks to determine what kinds of training, if any, are necessary. Needs assessment is
important to determine the necessary training program to provide to employees who lacks basic
skills required for the job. Not all employees requires training so if there is an assessment, it
would be easy to identify if there is really a need for training.

2.

A. Yes, training is necessary and is a possible solution to the problem. But before that there
are stages that must be taken to indicate that there is a need for training. One approach to
systematically develop training is the instructional design wherein the first step is the needs
assessment that deals with what the organization requires its people to learn. It involves the
assessment of the organization, employee and employee's task. Therefore, this would be one way
to carry out needs assessment.

B. Steps involved in a needs assessment begin with an initiation of the problem and
determining the real business need.

Gather Data. This involves interview with the members of Alicia's team to secure and mediate
individual and team success and the opportunities that may enable better results. Focusing on
groups and observations may also yield valuable data in assessing the appropriate training
options. Options should include evaluation for the cost of investment and potential for
meaningful returns.

The final step is to choose the appropriate options, develop a change management plan, and
move forward in seeking the appropriate approvals to begin the training and change management
plan. Ongoing results should be measured, evaluated, and used to adjust the training and change
management plans to ensure efforts are productive, efficient, and effective in achieving the
desired future state for the team
