Review of related literature provides an overview of previous
research on knowledge sharing and intranets. It introduces the framework for the case study that comprises the main focus of the research described in this thesis. The main purpose of the literature review work was to survey previous studies on knowledge sharing. This was in order to scope out the key data collection requirements for the primary research to be conducted, and it formed part of the emergent research design process. A literature review is a summary of research that has been published about a particular subject. It provides the reader with an idea about the current situation in terms of what has been done, and what we know. Sometimes it includes suggestions about what needs to be done to increase the knowledge and understanding of a particular problem.
There are two ways to present Review of Related Literature. 1.)
From the point of view of the researcher, it considers the researchers' needs and perspectives, it is used if they want to satisfy other researchers. It helps shape the research. 2.) From the point of view of the reader, it provides the bigger picture. It considers the readers needs, if the reader will find their literature review relevant, appropriate, and or useful.
The articles used must be from professional journals, which means
we can trust that the authors are trained professionals, and others have examined their work. Some studies are more easily read and summarized than others. Be sure you feel comfortable with your choices, since it is difficult to summarize ideas you don't understand. Once you have found the articles, read them and take notes. Write the literature review from your notes. If you want to satisfy your reader, use from the point of view of the reader but if you want your fellow researchers to satisfy, use from the point of view of the researcher.
