DHL Parcelcopter 2.0

The DHL Parcelcopter is what's known as a Quadrocopter.

 It is powered by four identical fixed pitch propellers.

 All power units continuously generate lift.

 The DHL Parcelcopter can be steered in any direction by adjusting the speed of the
individual power units.

 The research project between the mainland and the island of Juist involves an
automated copter, meaning there is no need for the pilot to intervene.

Technical details

 The electric power unit used in the research project enables a flight time of up to 45
minutes and a range of up to 12 km.

 The DHL Parcelcopter can carry a load of up to 1.2 kg.

 The total weight is below 5 kg.

 The DHL Parcelcopter is particularly quiet in flight – at a distance of 50 m it is about


as loud as a man's voice.

High reliability

 Weatherproof: The DHL Parcelcopter’s robust construction protects against rain,


snow and dust.

 The copter meets the requirements of the Electromagnetic Capability Directive


(EMC), carries the CE marking and is DIN EN ISO 9001 certified.

 The thermal resistance of the power units has been reviewed by the German Federal
Institute for Materials Research and Testing.

 The DHL Parcelcopter is equipped with state-of-the-art GPS technology.

 An innovative ground station monitors the unmanned flight operation at all times.

 A specially developed container ensures the medications are transported safely.
