Is She Happy?
In the novel the guernsey literary and potato peel pie society, the author present the novel in a
time after world war 2 in which the protagonist juliet ashton is assigned by her publisher to write
about the practical, normal, and philosophical value of reading. While searching about what and
who to write about she received as a letter from dawsey Happiness is described as a complex
multidimensional approaches towards the investigation of happiness through the various articles
included in the book. She receives letter for mall the members and falls in love with all the
members of the ey and find our that not just certain people war affected by the war, but
everyone was in different ways. She lost most of her items in the war while many of the people
actually most lost their freedom during the war. Happiness isn’t the consequence of bouncing
with one delight then onto the next, analysts find that accomplishing happiness ordinarily
includes times of extensive distress. Due to the multiple fields such as philosophy, psychology
and economics which are included in the text, the principles of happiness are comprised of
various actions, thoughts and attitudes which form the basis of the abstract experience. For
instance, Bill McKibben, one of the authors whose work is included in the novel, lives a
vegetarian life free of meat consumption due to his personal belief regarding veganism and its
role in saving the planet (Parfitt and Skórczewski pg. 56). And Two Articles from the book
“pursuing Happiness” by matthew parfitt and dawn skorczewski, help to explain why she is not
happy because he uses his pleasure to have juliet to himself as a way to keep his ego and high
position in place, she tries to connect and make experience to fill herself with happiness while
Mark is unhappy because he tries to use pleasure to cover and fill that hole that happiness will
bring by marrying Juliet and turn her to his trophy wife. Epicurus states that happiness will be
the begin and end of his favored life since she will bring her the gift yet could take away once
she discover his actual intentions with her despite all of her hardship through these tough times
and all the loss in her life Other characters in the book such as Heewon Change, whose article
examines the presumption of cultural borders in social interactions can also be referenced in the
examination of behaviour. Her research, while revealing the loss of ethnic cultural
identities in social spaces, appears to reel in the prospect of cultural permeability, which makes
her experience of happiness different from McKibben’s. It is, therefore, necessary to explore the
various physiological, sociological and anthropological element which contribute towards the
experience of happiness in order to reveal how the two authors in Matthew Parfitt’s Pursuing
Happiness are genuinely happy in their lives. Bill McKinnon is the writer of The Only Way to
Have a Cow, which details his life as a vegan and the perceived contribution which his lifestyle
choice has towards creating a better and environmentally safer planet through dietary choices.
decreases generally speaking enthusiastic prosperity, expands negative feelings, and furthermore
builds weakness. This is predictable through ongoing work connecting heat introduction to
expanded relational hostility, diminished work supply, efficiency. His article reveals how he took
up veganism due to its stated benefits such as the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions, which
the article claims is more than the savings experienced by purchasing a hybrid car (Matsunaga et
al.pg 132). Climate change is therefore crucial part of the article, which provides insight into the
source of McKibben’s happiness and also serves as a platform for the application of many
different life experiences. This translate to a wholesome experience of happiness which is
created through the combination of actions and perceptions of the results of the actions (Salas-
Vallina 314). Bill McKibben mentions many changes in his life associated with veganism such
as being forced to enjoy meals such as hamburgers and adhering to his girlfriend’s dietary
However, Bill McKibben appears to feel happy despite the physical deprivations in his life
which make certain experiences such as food consumption less stimulating. Bill McKibben’s
article provided one of the clearest indications that happiness does not lie in physical experience,
as his physical experiences are somewhat inferior to those of the common man. For instance, his
diet on plants for food is one which is unpopular in many parts of the world, and therefore
supposed to cause him feeling of dissatisfaction and even occasional frustration at his girlfriend,
for example. Looking at lessons of the antiquated astuteness conventions to those of present day
positive brain research and sociology, I contend that there is astonishing correspondence between
the two. The upbeat life, the two people of yore and present day concur, includes preparing and
the advancement and authority of specific character attributes. However, McKibben’s happy
experiences come from the knowledge of the goals which he aims to achieve through his choices,
therefore making happiness the result of his achievement (Uchida and Oishi pg. 125). Most
research on happiness is concerned about the variables or conditions that lead to happiness and
how to make arrangements that secure individual rights to look for individual satisfaction. Be
how factors that encourage individual bliss interface with, and in some cases meddle with,
aggregate satisfaction However, since, he cannot be said to have achieved his mission, and his
happiness is not permanent. Rather, it is a continuous state which is only actively felt in relation
to the ultimate goal of his actions, which makes him happy about his climate conservation
policies. This shows that happiness is more depended on the internal perception of oneself that
the inherent nature of one’s activities during the time of self-presentation (Uchida and Oishi
pg.125). Happiness has normally been talked about in regards to two aspects (an impermanent
positive feeling and an attribute like long haul feeling of being glad) that are interrelated; for
instance, people with a high level of trait-like subjective happiness will in general rate occasions
as progressively wonderful. In this examination, we estimated that the connection between the
two parts of satisfaction could be clarified by the communication among structure and capacity
in certain mind districts. Additionally, physical activities in themselves do not make a person
happy; a person might be running as a sport and another might be running from a threat. While
the activity is physically similar, the information processing stage occurs in different states,
Situation.
The reason why an author such as Chang feels happy is due to her role in the social
phenomenon she speaks of, which indicated the validity of her studies and the larger impact of
her theories on society. While happiness is not always directly caused by positive actions or
behaviour which result in happiness, the concept of happiness within a relationship context is
discussed and approved. Authors such as Bill McKibben appear more detached from the various
recognized feature of a worker. His physical experience is tied to the emotion of happiness
through creating a goal towards which the involved parties may apply. This source of happiness
less challenging to avoid as it is difficult to avoid the emotional response which is accompanied
by achieving a certain mental goal, or even a physical objective such as the change of diet by
