Guidelines for Skill Centre

1. Everyday Mrs. Sandhya (S) and Mr. Ranjan (R) must contact each other over the
telephone at least and discuss the developments. Each one must know about the plans
of the other. Neither should complain that the other person is not available or is not
attending to the phone call. There must be a plan for everyday action and it must be
carried out. A report should be sent to me (the VC) everyday.
2. I (VC) am acting as the Representative of Swamiji. The VC should be respected and
his words should be taken as the words of Swamiji. Before speaking to the VC, S and
R should analyse whether he/she would utter the same words before Swamiji. S and R
should obey the orders of the VC implicitly.
3. S and R should carry a notepad and a pen always and should note down the points of
any discussion.
4. S and R should always think of Plan B, Plan C etc. if Plan A were to fail.
5. S and R should have good terms with the ashram staff since a number of things have
to be done with the co-operation of the ashram staff.
6. During discussions with the Centurion staff S and R should be careful. S and R must
remember that the Centurion people are not our employees. We are dependent on
them for many things. At the same time, S and R must remember that we are not their
slaves. If any new point is coming up for discussion they should not agree readily but
say that they would discuss with the VC and get back to them.
7. When we have guests they should be treated well with breakfast/ lunch/ snacks/coffee
etc. depending upon the time of their arrival. Things should not be taken for granted.
S and R should be in the campus at least one hour before the arrival of the guests.
8. If necessary, S and R should come to the campus even at short notice. They should
make their own arrangements for vehicle and come to the campus.
9. After every meeting, S and R should prepare the minutes and send it to the VC within
a day after the meeting.
10. Whenever there is a meeting in the campus or elsewhere, S and R should bring the
necessary papers along.
11. S and R should think appropriately and act independently. They should not be
dependent on others always.
12. S and R should always think of cost effective measures since we are spending only
from the donations collected by Swamiji.
13. Every act of S and R should reflect a professional approach. Hotch potch things will
not work.
14. Marketing is a very important aspect when we run the courses. S and R should adopt
good marketing techniques to attract students.
15. Ours is a spiritual organisation and so it should be reflected in every action of ours.
16. S and R should follow any other points added to the guidelines from time to time.
