Comparative Analysis Essay On College Plan

When choosing a college I really need to observe the schools in depth to see if it really is

the perfect college for me. I had to research my top two choices for college, which were UC San

Diego and San Francisco State University. I researched information and major factors about

these two colleges to determine my primary choice. Based on the data I found I determined why

my primary choice of college will benefit me more than my second choice. I focused on the one

that benefits me the most which was San Francisco State University. I looked into these colleges

to see if the school has,programs, activities, clubs, sports, opportunities, and many other

important things that may interest me. I also have to learn more about the surroundings for

example, is there a library or market nearby, what the weather is like, is it a dangerous

neighborhood,is it better to live in the school or outside of the school, is there a laundry nearby.

There are many things I need to keep in mind before picking the perfect college.

The two colleges I chose as my main options were San Francisco State University and

UC San Diego. But before picking the perfect college, one of the things i have to look at is

tuition and the cost based on budget. For San Francisco State University, the tuition cost is

$6,476 and the cost based on budget is around 27,751. For UC San Diego, the tuition cost is

$13,530 and the cost based on budget is $25,407. I also have to kept in mind that living with

parents can reduce the amount or increase the amount in your budget depending on how far

away you live and also if you decide to live on campus.

San Francisco State University has a total undergraduate enrollment of 26,617 with a

gender distribution of 44%male students and 56% female students. 15 percent of the students

live on campus and 85% of the students that attend this college live off campus. UC San Diego

has a total of 28,127 undergraduate enrollment.This school has a gender distribution of 49.1%

female and 50.6% male students. For both of these school I have the same major which is

Nursing.

San Francisco has a average temperature of 57.3*F. The highest it will ever get is 63.8*F,

and the lowest it will ever get will be, 50.8*F. The total of housing and parking and

transportation and car insurance would be and average total of $4,302. San Diego has an average

temperature of 63.65*F. The highest it will ever get is 69.8*F, and the lowest it will ever get will

be, 57.5*F. The total of housing and parking and transportation and car insurance would be and

average total of $2,508. These two places are very different from each other which will have a

different result in the cost of budget.

In comparing both colleges and based on all the data I collected, I have decided to make

San Francisco State University my primary choice over UC San Diego because of the tuition,

logistics, and environment.

In Conclusion, throughout this experience I have learned that college is more expensive

than I thought but none of that is going to stop me from accomplishing my goals. This

assignment that was given to me and my classmates had a really huge impact on me because it

to.
