This is in part a tradition of magicians and science. At the time, magic and science were seen as one. No
wonder, why some science was viewed as magic since: “any advance science could be seen as magic” to
anyone who doesn’t understand it. Think about it… It is the middle ages and some chemical reaction
turns a piece of metal and turns it to a different thing. Was it magic? Not really, just a chemical reaction,
but it sure looked like magic.
On the other hand, there are accounts of real magic, not just chemical reactions. That will be a topic for
another day.
