Si Buaya Perompak
( The Pirate Crocodile )

A long time ago there was a famous river in Lampung Province, named Tulang Bawang river. Not
many people dared to sail in Tulang Bawang river. A big crocodile live there. People believed the
crocodile would eat anyone who sail the river.

Not far from the river, there was a village. Aminah and her parents lived there. She was a beautiful
girl. One day her parents asked her to go to another village. It was across the river. Aminah was a
kind doughter. She always obeyed her parents.

Mother: “please be very carefull, dear. If you see the crocodile near you, row your boat as fast as
you can” said the mother.
Aminah: I will be carefull, mother. I will come back to you later. I promise you”. Said aminah.

Aminah then took her boat. She rowed it slowly. She didnt want to make any noise. She didn’t want
the crocodile to hear her. But she was wrong? The big crocodile was looking at her.
The crocodile was swimming silently. Then..... it atttacked the boat. It turned upside down. Aminah
was so scared..

Aminah: “help! Somebody please help me” screamed aminah

Aminah was drowned. She was unconscious. When she was awake, she was inside a big cave. She
stood up and looked araound. She saw something shining in the dark. She was surprised. When she
approached it, she found a lot of jewelries.

Aminah:” woow.. what a beautiful jewelries are these, whose belong to these?”
Oww, it must belong to someone”

Suddenly she heard a voice.

Crocodile: “you can take those jewelries. But you have to stay with me”

The voice was from the crocodile. It was the same crocodile that attacked her in the river. Aminah
wanted to run, but she was cornered. The crocodile was right in front of her.

Crocodile: “ don’t be afraid. I’m not a real crocodile. I was a human. Somad my name was used to be.
I was a pirate and always stole people’s jewelries. Until one day a witch cursed me into a crocodile.
And now I kept those jewelries here inside the cave.”
Considering that the situsation was getting bad, aminah agreed to stay in the cave with him.
But at last she came out with a great idea.

Aminah: “ somad how do you go to the river?” asked aminah.

Crocodile: “there is a tunnel that connects the cave to the riverside”. Explained the crocodile.
Aminah: “ oh, really..( considering the valuable information)
Mhhmm.. how can I get the foods and dresses if I cannot go out?” asked aminah.
Crocodile: “ don’t worry I will give you the foods and dresses and all these jewelries”. Said the
crocodile.

By saying so, the crocodile pirate didn’t realize that he aleady broke his secret.

Aminah waited for the chance that she could run away from that crocodile pirate.
There came a day, the crocodile was sleeping..aminah would not waste that chance..

Aminah: “ ahaa,, the crocodile is sleeping. This is the right time to go out from this cave. and
I need to bring these all jewelries with me too. “

Aminah then, slowly went on from that cave. She walked through the tunnel, then she saw a light.
Finally aminah reached the riverside. She met some villagers and they helped her. Aminah’s parents
were very happy, their doughter back home. They sold all the jewelries and gave the money to other
villagers. Everybody was happy, they were not poor anymore.

Message:
Every bad deeds will get bad effect too. Wealth doesn’t always helps to produce happiness
but the more we are gratefull the more happiness we get.
