Author Guidelines
1- Submission Policy
Papers submitted to Zanco Journal must contain original material. The submitted paper, or any translation
of it, must neither be published, nor be submitted for publication elsewhere. Violations of these rules will
normally result in an immediate rejection of the submission without further review.

2- General Peer-Review Procedure


All manuscripts submitted for publication in our journals are strictly and thoroughly peer-reviewed. The
Editorial Offices will organize peer-review and collect at least two review comments per manuscript. The
Editorial Board prepares a decision letter according to the comments of the reviewers, which is sent to the
corresponding author. We usually allow 4 weeks for each peer-review process.

At Zanco Journal, we're dedicated to protecting your rights as an author, and ensuring that any and all
legal information and copyright regulations are addressed. Whether an author is published with Zanco
Journal or any other publisher, we hold ourselves and our colleagues to the highest standards of ethics,
responsibility and legal obligation.

4- Zanco Journal’s Ethics Statement


Zanco Journal takes the responsibility to enforce a rigorous peer-review together with ethical policies and
standards to the field of scholarly Publication. Zanco Journal takes cases of plagiarism, data falsification
and inappropriate authorship credit very seriously and our editors will have a zero tolerance to such
behaviours.

6- Style: (NOTE: Do Not Use the Chapter Format When Writing Your Paper, But you can use (digital
system) for numbering to do this.
6-1 Page setup:

 English: A4 and the Margins should be: 2cm Top 2cm Bottom 3cm Left 2cm Right.
 Kurdish and Arabic: A4 and the Margins should be: 2cm Top 2cm Bottom 3cm Right 2cm Left.
 Numbering the sections has to start from the introduction.
 Do not use the automatic numbering of the headlines, manual numbering of the headlines is
advised.
 The entire written document has to be on one file and not to be submitted in separate parts.
 The line spacing of the paragraphs has to be (Single).

6-2 Fonts:

 Abstract: is required in three languages (English, Kurdish and Arabic) :


 English: (Times New Romans) size (10 Bold) for the headline and the same text size (10) for body.
 Kurdish (Unikurd Jino) (10) for the headline and (Unikurd Xani) size (10) for the body.
 Arabic: (Times New Romans) size (10 Bold) for the headline and (Times New Romans) size (10) for
all the body.
 Keywords: cannot exceed from 5 words, and the same above font size guidelines will apply.
 Introduction and the body: When writing the introduction, the first litter of the first word has to be
Drop Cap.
 English: (Times New Romans) size (12 Bold) for all headlines and the same text size (12) for all the
body.
 Kurdish (Unikurd Jino) (12) for the headline and (Unikurd Xani) size (12) for the body.
 Arabic: (Times New Romans) size (12 Bold) for the headline and (Times New Romans) size (12) for
all the body.
 All new paragraphs have to start with one tab, when writing in Arabic, paragraphs should not start
with letter (‫ )و‬.

6-3 Tables and Figures

 All the tables and figures of the paper can NOT be wider than 11cm.
 All tables and figures has to be an image (JPG) format and should not been made up from multiple
parts, scanned parts has to be clear and in good quality.
 All poems have to be writing in a table, where each paragraph of a poem (Stanza) has to be written
in its own Colum.

 The use of Textbox or Wordart should be avoided at all times.

7- Citing Referencing

 Citing and referencing has to be written in (Harvard Referencing System) and not as a Foot Note.
 Write the references in the same font and size guidelines of the abstract.
 All the references have to be written in an alphabetical order.
 A full guide on how to use the Harvard system can be obtained from the Zanco journal office.

8- Submission of work

Number of sheets must not be more than 30.


When submitting a paper an electronic copyof manuscript should be send to the journal website.
Zanco journal will retain all the papers weather they are accepted or rejected and will not be
returned to the researcher.
If any of the above guidelines are not met, the journal will not accept the paper.
