Annisa : “ hello, good morning too, thank u because you’ve invited me to come here”
Fauzi : “ you’re welcome, this time we will discuss about FREE TRADE AREA”
Annisa : “yeah, it’s so good for us to discuss about it“
Fauzi : ” okay, this time i’ll ask u many questions about it, the first what is it free trade area ?”
Annisa : “AFTA ASEAN Free Trade Area in 2015 is where trade in goods and services being free in the ASEAN region
and Indonesian people can easily work, for example in Malaysia or Vietnam and vice versa”
Fauzi : “uh what the effects of a shift in the international economic system for the dynamics of trade relations
between many countries?
Annisa : “International economic system shifts toward free markets. As a result, countries are required to be able
to integrate the national economy towards a free trade system”
Fauzi : “what is the purpose of AFTA?”
Annisa : “I think there are several objectives of AFTA, among others are :
-Making the ASEAN region as a competitive production that ASEAN products have strong
competitiveness in the global market.
-Attract more Foreign Direct Investment (FDI)
-Increase trade among ASEAN member countries (Intra-ASEAN Trade).
Fauzi : “ we know that In the development of other ASEAN members enter gradually, like Vietnam (1995), Laos and
Myanmar (1997) and Cambodia (1999). However, there are some countries that also participated by signing
bilateral agreements, such as China, Japan, South Korea, India, Australia and New Zealand. “
Annisa : “Under an agreement Summit (KTT) Last ASEAN in Phnom Penh. In December 2015, AFTA will come into
force. There will only be a single market and production base with five main elements, namely the free flow of
goods, free services, free investment, capital flows and the free flow of skilled labor”
Fauzi : “approximately, what benefits can be obtained by Indonesia on AFTA?”
Annisa : “the benefits can be obtained by Indonesia on AFTA are :
-Marketing opportunities to ASEAN goods would be far greater and would
increase the income of the Indonesian population.
-The production costs will be cheaper and Indonesia will benefit
greatly because the average products are imported.
-The buyer's choice will become more varied.
-Cooperation in doing business increasingly open alliance with
businesses in ASEAN member countries.
Fauzi :”ouh it’s so good for indonesia, but why a lot of people who say that AFTA is not profitable for indonesia ?”
Annisa : “because based on the data, that Indonesia lost with the three countries, Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand. In
addition, the government is still not be able to provide protection evenly so as not ready for the AFTA.”
Fauzi : “ so what should be done to face the AFTA ?”
Annisa : “ The main thing is we have to develop the basis of their competence,SKA = skill, Knowledge, attitude, and
SSA = speed, stamina, accuracy “
Fauzi : “ how human resource development within the framework of AFTA “
Annisa : “ we can do this by mapping quality, quality needs analysis and quality improvement for setting standards
for education and skills to face the AFTA. Maybe u know that skills.
Fauzi : “ I only know 5 skills that must people have , namely : the ability to communicate verbally, collaboration,
professional in the field, able to write well, and the ability to solve problems”
Annisa : wow it’s so true.
Fauzi : “so the conclusion is that we’re sure that we can confront and compete in AFTA,thn we can be a competitor
for the other countries and promote Indonesia. Yeah I guess, pretty up here our discussion this time about AFTA,
we”re equally hope that Indonesia can compete and be developed. Thank you so much because you has been
