Manual data input not only slows your operations down; it also increases the chances of
mistakes in computations. By using NetSuite ERP’s order and billing management
module, you can easily bring your sales, finance, and fulfillment operations together for a
more efficient workflow. In turn, you can improve quote accuracy, reduce billing
mistakes, and reinforce revenue recognition. Moreover, you can accelerate the order-to-
cash process by automating your approval, invoicing, and payment management
responsibilities.
Streamline fulfillment flow and keep customers happy
Customer, order, invoice, and shipping information are centralized to help reduce
fulfillment errors and avoid costs of reconciling shipping information. This module

shipping needs, such as updated shipping rates and order processing costs, within
NetSuite.

Some of the capabilities include: “what-if” financial modeling features to aid in
budgeting and forecasting; evaluation of various financial scenarios to set annual targets
more accurately; and analysis of gap between actual and projected results to manage
expectations.
NetSuite has a robust financial planning foundation. It offers unlimited database
capabilities which allow you to easily perform advanced project accounting. You can go
beyond spreadsheets and execute custom, system-wide queries based on any type of
criteria. Custom reports and customizable templates give you real-time access to all the
data in the system. This enables you to generate unlimited what-if scenarios underscoring

Make more informed and entirely data-driven decisions
NetSuite ERP also comes with built-in business intelligence features, and associates those
to your financial and production management data for maximum accuracy. You can use it
to turn numerical data into high-quality visual analytics, and monitor the health of your
business at any point of time. You can pull off a variety of reports and actionable insights,
and create custom data summaries.
Grows side-by-side with your business
What makes NetSuite ERP one of the most desired systems of its kind is scalability,
having in mind that it was developed to support your growth, and that its functionality is
fully configurable and expandable upon need. You can add and customize functions with
ease, up until you leverage an end-to-end business management system that eliminates all
need to invest in third-party solutions.
Won’t be painful to afford
NetSuite ERP is a quote-priced system, which means that each client gets a price tailored
exactly to their needs. For more details, contact the sales team. A free product tour is also
available, so that you can examine the features before making a purchase.
Excellent dashboards
NetSuite’s top notch dashboards are an indicator of its thoroughness and flexibility. It
provides numerous customizable screen layouts that can be configured for particular
company roles. Employees can personalize their dashboards if permitted by the
administrator.
The real-time dashboards help you analyze and report the system data, and track Key
Performance Indicators (KPIs) such as your account balances and the number of
outstanding bills or invoices. In short, they enable a company to evaluate performance
versus their organizational goals. The dashboards also assist in dealing with routine
details by providing reminders of deadlines, calls, meetings etc.

MICROSOFT DYNAMICS
GREAT PLANES
PAGE 7
Dynamics GP is a piece of business software made by Microsoft. It’s an
enterprise resource management—or ERP—program that helps businesses
manage the back-end operations such as accounting that keeps it running on
a day-to-day basis.
PAGE 8
field service management, supply chain management, and project and job
accounting.
Dynamics GP tends to be used by businesses who are not “IT lead”; those who
are not fast-changing, who have no desire or need for cutting-edge features,
and are happy to stick with what works for them.
Another perk of its longevity is that GP has grown a strong network of partners
and professionals around it, who are available to help businesses realize their
ERP vision. These partners have built a broad range of solutions that address
specific industry needs.
PAGE 9
how they access the system. GP can be accessed through the web, via a
SharePoint portal, or using a traditional desktop computer, so both office and
remote employees can perform business processes whenever they need to.
GP’s native integration with Microsoft Office, and other commonly used
business tools like SharePoint and Outlook, makes it easy for businesses to
further centralize their tasks, and collaborate with other departments and
other businesses more easily.
There’s also the guaranteed support; whichever version users opt for,
Microsoft will provide updates and fixes for up to 10 years after its release.
On the most basic level, using an intelligent ERP like GP improves record
accuracy, making sure every user has access to the right information first
time, which not only saves time, but improves the quality of a company’s
engagement with their customers and clients, helping to boost customer
satisfaction and cement long-term loyalty.
PAGE 10
Having a single repository for operational data enables businesses to get a
clear, complete picture of things like production costs and outgoings, so
budgets can be assessed and reevaluated on a regular basis to keep spending
as low as possible.
There are still a number of older versions—GP 2013, GP 2015, and GP 2016—which are still supported by
Microsoft, and remain in use by many businesses.
Though its suitability for international growth was limited by its language capabilities, Dynamics GP was
always developed as a fully functional product for English-speaking markets, ready to be used by
businesses straight out of the box.
Dynamics NAV, on the other hand, was built primarily as a foundational platform on which ISVs could
develop their own product. Businesses opting to use Dynamics NAV can expect around 65% of the
functionality they need to be available in an off-the-shelf iteration of NAV; they then have the space to be
able to add in what else they need based on their own business-specific requirements.
Here are some key differences in functionality between NAV and GP:
PAGE 11
DYNAMICS GP IS NOT AS ADAPTABLE, AS IT IS DESIGNED TO BE USED RIGHT
OFF THE SHELF.
The Starter Pack includes three Full User Licenses, and covers GP’s core
functionality including finance, distribution, and payroll.
For an additional one-off cost, users can purchase the Extended Pack, which
includes modules for manufacturing, warehousing, and project management,
plus some CRM and business intelligence capabilities.

PeopleSoft is an e-business software product line owned
by Oracle. PeopleSoft originally offered human resources
and finance applications. Over the years, it has added tools
and applications for general business processes, such as
materials management, and applications for specific
industries, such as the automotive, communications and
higher-education fields.
HISTORY:
PeopleSoft was founded in 1987 by Dave Duffield and Ken
Morris to launch their human resources application. Their
mission was to provide software to meet the changing
demands of the business world. PeopleSoft became well
known for its HR capabilities in managing a company’s
workforce. It was initially a client/server architecture, which
was popular in the 80’s and 90’s, but by the late 90’s they
realized that the web was the future. In 2000, the company
launched the web-based version of its software,
PeopleSoft8. Its web-based applications are intended to
PAGE 13
integrate systems easily, so a company can connect
customers, employees and suppliers more cost-effectively.
Since the Oracle takeover in 2005, the product line has been
reduced and release pace has dropped dramatically.
Following the death of PeopleSoft, Dave Duffield started a
new company, which was called Workday. Still a lot of
companies are using PeopleSoft. Its market share is
decreasing but not so rapidly.
PAGE 14
PeopleSoft Human Capital Management (HCM) allows
users to execute common HR tasks, such as approving
a promotion transaction, managing their team, viewing
a pay slip or editing personal information.
Users are also able to use their own custom data with
PeopleSoft and create multinode PeopleSoft clusters
on the Oracle Cloud.

PAGE 15
PeopleSoft offers business process management
(BPM) tools, allowing users to set up orders and
workflows, as well as automate processes.
DOWNSIDES:
Nearly half of the organizations using Oracle’s
PeopleSoft applications are vulnerable to cyber attacks,
according to a report from ERPScan, a company that
specializes in securing business-critical enterprise
resource planning (ERP) solutions from SAP and Oracle.
Using a special Google search, ERPScan has determined
that there are 549 PeopleSoft systems accessible through
the Internet. Researchers discovered that an attacker can
log in to the system as any user by brute forcing this hash.
According to ERPScan, the token can be decrypted within
one day using a GPU that costs roughly $500. Oracle
PeopleSoft solutions are used by many public and private
organizations worldwide for human capital, financial, supplier
relationship, and supply chain management. The popularity
of applications such as PeopleSoft Human Resource
Management Systems (HRMS), reportedly used by more
than 7,000 companies, makes them an attractive target for
cybercriminals.
FUTURE OF PeopleSoft:
PAGE 16
Today’s PeopleSoft delivers continuous innovation with new
features, functionality, and enhancements across the
applications suite. Oracle’s PeopleSoft applications are
designed to address the most complex business
requirements. They provide comprehensive business and
industry solutions, enabling organizations to increase
productivity, accelerate business performance, and provide a
lower cost of ownership.
1-SAP (Systems Applications and Products in Data
Processing)
Introduction:
An ERP was built based on the former SAP R/3 software. SAP R/3, which was
officially launched on 6 July 1992, consisted of various applications on top of
SAP Basis, SAP's set of middleware programs and tools. All applications were
built on top of the SAP Web Application Server. Extension sets were used to
deliver new features and keep the core as stable as possible. The Web
Application Server contained all the capabilities of SAP Basis.
A complete architecture change took place with the introduction of mySAP ERP
in 2004. R/3 Enterprise was replaced with the introduction of ERP Central
Component (SAP ECC). The SAP Business Warehouse, SAP Strategic
Enterprise Management and Internet Transaction Server were also merged into
SAP ECC, allowing users to run them under one instance. The SAP Web
Application Server was wrapped into SAP NetWeaver, which was introduced in
2003. Architectural changes were also made to support an enterprise service
architecture to transition customers to a Service-oriented architecture.[5]
PAGE 17
The latest version, SAP ERP 6.0, was released in 2006. SAP ERP 6.0 has since
then been updated through SAP enhancement packs, the most recent: SAP
enhancement package 8 for SAP ERP 6.0 in 2016.
1. Project Preparation
2. Business Blueprint
3. Realization
4. Final Preparation
5. Go live Support
Project Preparation:
The purpose of this phase is to provide initial planning and preparation for your
SAP project.
Business Blueprint:
The purpose of this phase is to achieve a common understanding of how the
company intends to run its business within the SAP System. The result is the
Business Blueprint, a detailed documentation of the results gathered during
requirements workshops. The Business Blueprint document represents the
business process requirements of the company. It is the agreed statement of how
the company intends to run its business within the SAP System.
PAGE 18
Realization:
The purpose of this phase is to implement all the business process requirements
based on the Business Blueprint. The system configuration methodology is
provided in two work packages: Baseline (major scope); and Final configuration
(remaining scope).
Final Preparation:
The purpose of this phase is to complete the final preparation (including testing,
end user training, system management and cutover activities) to finalize your
readiness to go live. The Final Preparation phase also serves to resolve all
critical open issues. On successful completion of this phase, you are ready to run
your business in your SAP System.
Go Live and Support:
The purpose of this phase is to move from a project-oriented, pre-production
environment to live production operation.
Costs of an Implementation:
There is no straight answer, but it is not an inexpensive process. Each
implementation is different in terms of scope, length of time and required
resources. Thus, the budgets vary accordingly. Good planning helps keep
projects as economical as possible. And, an investment early on in detailing the
requirements review and scoping will pay dividends in lower costs over time.
Hiring the right project managers similarly keeps the process under control, in
terms of cost.
Advantages of SAP:
1- Flexibility
2- Features
Flexibility:
One advantage of SAP is its flexibility. SAP allows companies to create their
own rules within the SAP structure. These rules set the parameters for
PAGE 19
acceptable and unacceptable transactions. For example, the system will not
allow a journal entry to process if it does not balance. Companies determine
which employees access each area in the SAP environment. Only qualified
personnel receive access to personnel data, such as wage rates. SAP also has
the flexibility to integrate its data with a variety of databases. Users can
download information into spreadsheets for further analysis .
Features:
SAP can analyze data from any source and conduct collaborative decision
making. These features allow SAP to meet the needs of many complex
businesses and government organizations.
Disadvantages of SAP:
High cost
Complexity
High cost:

trained. This involves training each employee in the functions they have access
to. Ongoing costs include software maintenance and periodic upgrades.
Complexity:
Another disadvantage of SAP is the complexity built into the software. Most
companies implement one feature or function of the software at a time. The
complete implementation process may take several years because first they
allow employees to get familiar with the existing feature of the software before
moving forward to implement the new ones.

Other features include real estate management, human capital
management, environmental health and safety and commodity trading.
The manufacturing and distribution module allow users to manage
various manufacturing operations via lean and project-based
manufacturing modes. The consumer goods module allows users to
manage the quality of products, supply chain and transportation.
