Introduction
Project Brief:
The Musician’s Circle was created in 2015 by two sisters who wanted to marry their love of music with their
fascination with niche cultures and spirituality. They wanted to create a place for people to feel free to
explore and celebrate occult systems of belief while enjoying a unique atmosphere.
The goal for The Musician’s Circle is to provide and escape for those who can’t find one anywhere else,
as well as an adventure for those who are bold and curious enough to take it. The establishment doesn’t
necessarily want to compete on the same level as nightclubs or trendy bars, they simply want to provide a
unique environment to fill a niche not commonly addressed.
4
Design Overview:
To reflect the values of the Musicia’s Circle, the brand and logo focus on uniting eclectic iconogrophy with
texture to create a one-of-a-kind style. The following pages detail the choices that define the Musician’s
Circle’s unique branding as well as the rules that help keep the design consistent.
5
Basic Elements
The fundamental building blocks for the brand are the color palette, typefaces, and
logo. To keep the designs on brand, consistent organization of these assets is key.
6
7
Color Palette
Primary
The purpose of combining yellow with black is to
create high contrast within our branding. This
not only helps in sustaining strong design, but
emphasizes the subtle yet striking presence that
we want our brand to have.

Secondary
To reflect the ideas of culture and time-honored
tradtions, texture is added in place of additional
color in order to add a sense of age.

Typeface
Main
The main typeface is AltaCalifornia. The defining quality of the typeface is how
it combines unique aspects of several families of type (slab, serif, sans, & black
letter) and ties them into one family.
The original type face was a little too disruptive and so it has been modified to
be in headers as well as the logo’s wordmark.
modified typeface
10
Secondary
To counteract the striking style of the main type face, Input Serif Compressed will be used for all of the
brand’s body copy needs. The consistent stroke weight throughout the typeface adds an element of uniformity to
the brand’s identity. The typeface will alternate between Medium for subheaders and light for standard copy.
11
Icon
The logo combines the brand’s stylized typeface with a strong icon to create a striking design that doesn’t
reveal all of its secrets at first glance.
Inspiration for the logo comes from musical symbolism. By combining a bass and treble clef into a single
symbol, it estranges the meaning while maintaining a familiar thread. The outer ring represents the “circle”
part of the brand name while also giving the icon the feeling of a painted rune with its brush-like stroke.

Master Logo
The master logo is meant to be displayed on black & textured backgrounds which are the most prevalent
backgrounds throughout the brand identity. The multicolor logo should be used on white whenever full color is
available. The black logo should only be used on white when full color isn’t an available option.
