What is eEnablement?

• It connects airplanes 24/7 to the rest of the organization and

the world to provide the ability to seamlessly move
information.
• It is a set of end to end applications that :
• Are under full control of the fleet manager
• Are connected and distributed in the air and on the ground
• And as such, provides means to lift the capabilities of pilot
device, aircraft or airline’s operations
• Using a communications based infrastructure scheme
(airborne and ground distributed information system
capable of hosting the set of applications)

=> Control of Information flows deliver significant operations

efficiency improvement opportunities

On board today: EFB Market status and trends*

• As of 2012, 83% of airlines had some sort of EFB program. The

main driver of that program is highest price/value combination,
with 76% reporting satisfaction with their EFB program

• Over 90% of EFB programs are driven by Flight Ops

• Tablets are used by 46% of airlines

• Airlines are standardizing EFB connectivity; 50% can access Wi-Fi

• One-fifth of EFB replacements will occur within three years

=> Case won but Airlines are still missing the last link:

e-Enablement unifies operations on a multi-
airframe platform

For the corporate For Maintenance Operations

organisation • Improves first time fix rate by
monitoring and analysing aircraft data
• Reduces business costs by automating in real-time.
workflow and increasing staff
flexibility. • Makes it easy to integrate new aircraft
into existing supply chain.
• Helps meet environmental targets.
• Cuts time wasted on unnecessary
/incorrect component removal.

For flight operations For Cabin Operations

•Increases profitability by improving fuel • Increases customer satisfaction
consumption. • Cuts revenue loss from credit card fraud
•Boosts productivity by removing paper-based
processes.
on in-flight sales.
•Improved safety through real-time reporting of flight • Increases crew efficiency with real-time
critical incidents. in-flight information and on-board briefings.
• Reduces the cost of support processes.
• Reduces the weight and print costs of on-board
manuals.
• Improves service recovery during disruptive and
unplanned in-flight incidents.
