As tedious and frustrating the senior project was at times, it was certainly helpful in

reminding me of how to compose a research paper but also useful in that I learned how to get

into contact with others and organize fundraisers and petitions. Realistically, these are all skills

that are necessary in college and the real world. For that reason, I appreciate that Northgate has a

project such as this that teaches seniors that.

Since I dedicated my senior project towards something that I was truly interested in, I had

a relatively good experience with it. Researching about sex education did not feel tedious at all,

in fact, it was very interesting and as a teenager today, it was educational as well. It made me

more aware of the chaotic sex education that the United States has in that there is no uniformity.

Researching about it made me really think about what I believe is right for sex education and I

have come to my own personal conclusions. In this case, I’m glad to know what is going on in

this country in regards to this specific matter and that I was able to form my own opinion about

it.

Although researching was fun and effortless, senioritis did hit hard when it came time to

writing the actual paper itself. I did wait quite late to start writing my paper and it was frustrating

since I could not figure out exactly what I wanted to articulate. It simply seemed as though I had

writer’s block and somehow I made it through. But what was even more frustrating was the

project aspect since my peers and I were unable to get in contact with the initial organizations

that we had wanted to work with. Figuring out what exactly we were going to do for our project

was really difficult at first when out first hope had yet to work out. Thankfully, my wonderful

peers and teacher were extremely helpful with this.

There were definitely challenges that had to be overcome but I am actually glad that I had

these problems because I learned how to work through them.
