I am pleased to write a letter of recommendation for Andrew Gutierrez. I have been

fortunate to coach Andrew on the Carson High School baseball team for four years. In my time
as the baseball coach, Andrew has shown to be a young man of intelligence, hard work, and
respect. He is now a senior at Carson and is a leader on and off the field, showing his work ethic
at practice and through his grades academically.

Andrew is one of the hardest working student athletes that I have worked with in my
years of coaching baseball. He never takes days off and is always staying after practice to get in
extra work. Over the last year Andrew worked extremely hard to improve his hitting and became
a pitcher. As a senior, he was one of the Varsity’s team captains. As a Junior, Andrew was the
first baseman for the Carson High baseball team who recorded the most wins in the programs
history while being runner-up’s in the CIF Los Angeles City Section Division I baseball
playoffs. Andrew was also voted Most Dedicated by his teammates and coaches. As a freshman,
Andrew helped his Junior Varsity team win the league title for the first time in over ten years.
Andrew is a hardworking and relentless player, who will do anything for the team in order for
the team to have success.

As good as a baseball player as Andrew is, he possesses many characteristics that make
him an honorable young man. He displays great attitude day in and day out. His resilience to
overcome struggles on the field or in the classroom has made him a strong student and better
man. It was enjoyable to coach Andrew over the last four years. He is active in our local parks,
volunteering his time to help clean fields and help local staff with their jobs.

I strongly believe that Andrew Gutierrez will have an impact to any program or school
that he attends. He has a good head on his shoulders, and I know that he has the dedication and
work ethic needed in order to be successful on and off the field. With his talent and dedication to
be great he will succeed due to his work ethic and leadership. I advise you to give Andrew strong
consideration. He will give you everything he has got just like he has here at Carson High
School.
