Oh, I hope Odysseus comes home soon

It has been twenty years too long for me

I long for the time when he was my groom

But now he is far away, lost at sea.

He has left Telemachus to deal with the suitors

And though I resist, temptation exists

To marry one, but they are intruders.

To my life, to my home, to my money

But oh, how they persist and persist.

Drinking my wine and eating bread and honey

And Telemachus tries to assist

Because he is tired of them being scummy.

But I will not marry because I know

That Odysseus will indeed soon show.
