3-D TRANSFORMATION

 Transformation-
Change in one body to the other object i.e. changing its shape, size
and length is called transformation.
 Types of transformation-
1) Translation Transformation
2) Scaling Transformation
3) Shearing Transformation
4) Rotation Transformation
5) Reflection Transformation

Translation Transformation-
Shifting a point to some other place whose distance to that
Place is already known is called translation transformation.
We translate by adding translation distance to the original
Coordinates position.
X´= X+tX
Y´= Y+tY
Z´= Z+Tz

Scaling Transformation-
In this transformation, we can change the size of an object.
In this process,we either expand or compress the dimensions
Of the object. It is achieved by multiplying the original coordinates
of object with scaling factors to get the desired result.
X´= X.SX
Y´= Y.SY
Z´= Z.SZ

Shearing Transformation-
It is the type of transformation that slants the shape of an object.
X´= X + YShxy + ZShxz
Y´= XShyx + Y + ZShyz
Z´= XShzx + YShzy + Z
Rotation Transformation-
Rotating the object an angle is called rotation transformation.
a) Rotation about X-axis
b) Rotation about Y-axis
c) Rotation about Z-axis
Rotation about X-axis:
The value of x remains unchanged while y and z changes.
X´= X
Rotation about Y-axis:
The value of y remains unchanged while x and z changes.
Y´= Y
Rotation about Z-axis:
The value of z remains unchanged while x and y changes.
Z´= Z
Reflection Transformation-
The mirror image of the object is called reflection transformation.
a) Reflection about XY- Plane
b) Reflection about YZ- Plane
c) Reflection about ZX- Plane

Reflection about XY-plane:

X´= X
Y´= Y
Z´= -Z
Reflection about YZ-plane:
X´= -X
Y´= Y
Z´= Z
Reflection about ZX-plane:
X´= X
Y´= -Y
Z´= Z
