Defence day of Pakistan

Defence day of Pakistan is celebrated every year at 6th of September. We celebrate it for those
martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the defence of our country. They set remarkable examples
of bravery and sacrifices for us.

History:
In 1965, when Pakistan and India fought against each other in the World War II. As a result, war
ended with the support of UN (United Nations) at 6th September and Pakistan remained saved;
though this war affected financially to both the countries but none of them was dominated.

Reason behind the War:


Actually the war fought for the issue of Kashmir. But unfortunately, that issue is still unresolved.

Heroes of defence day:


Captain Sarwar Shaheed, Major Tufail Shaheed, Major Raja Aziz Bhatti Shaheed, Major Shabbir
Sharif Shaheed. Major Muhammad Akram Shaheed, Sawar Muhammad Hussain, Lance Naik
Mehfooz Shaheed, Shaheed Pilot Officer Rashid Minhas Shaheed, Captain Karnal Sher Shaheed
and Havaldar Lalak Jan Shaheed. They were awarded with "Nishan-e-Hairder" on 6th
September.

“Nishaan e haider is a special batch awarded or given to the martyred people.”

Ways of Celebration:
 Pak army displays the latest missiles, tanks, guns, army aviation helicopters and
armament used by the engineers at that time.
 Live functions are organized every year on Electrical and Mechanical Corps, Army Air
Defense, Signals, Army Service Corps and Army Medical Corps etc.
 People attend these functions and sing national songs every year.
