    UNDERSTANDING THE SPACE SYNTAX IN CITIES

    ABSTRACT

    With the advent of 21st century, many socio ecological issues are being evident in the

    cities exerting pressure on the government and its governance. This article discusses

    one of the solutions among the many sustainability concepts adopted towards

    sustainable architecture and development ie minimising the connectivity by

    understanding the space syntax of the cities.

    INTRODUCTION

    With major portion of the world getting urbanized, an accelerated result of this is seen

    in the cities. Adding fuel to fire, the global wealth and resources are being exploited

    more in the urban regions. Moving towards safer urban environments, along with

    preservation of green urban spaces, greater energy efficiency and reduction in pollution
    levels it is highly essential to reduce the length of the linkages of connectivity.
