Pakistan and neighboring In-

prolonged heat wave  is fore-
cast to start in the coming days
and last well into June. Tem-
peratures  will  soar above  40
C  (104 F)  across central  and
northern India each day, with

The heat will also spread
northwest into much of Paki-
stan and southern Afghanistan,

On completion of 21 years of becom-
ing the first nuclear power of Islamic
World , Takbir Day was celebrated all
over the country with zeal and fervor.
It is worth mentioning that in response
to India’s nuclear experiments, Paki-
stan made 5 successful nuclear explo-
sions at the location of Chagai area of
Baluchistan on 28 May 1998, after
which it is remembered every year
with the name of ‘Takbir Day’. On May
11, 1998 India took 5 nuclear explo-
sions of 43 kilotons. People’s reaction
and feelings were out of control, they
wanted some reaction over India’s ac-
tion. Though the political leadership
was confused to decide, but with the
support of the National Security In-
stitutions, the government responded
and on May 28, 1998, on Thursday
afternoon at about 3:40pm five atomic
explosions were carried out in Chagai.

twelve kilotons. It is said about the
seventh fission ‘device’ that it was not
‘exploded’ but the nation was happy

India’s 5 explosions. It was Pakistani

of East Pakistan in 1971, it was be-
lieved that the nuclear power for the
security of our country was essential
to retaliate to India’s expanding am-
bitions. In 1972, the nuclear program
of Pakistan was founded, for which
anonymous heroes of nation offered
incredible sacrifices. After Zulfiqar Ali
Bhutto, General Zia-ul-Haq, Ghulam
Ishaq Khan and all the scientists, tech-
nicians, engineers, and all the team
members deserve the tribute. It was a
matter of survival of the nation. The
way everyone contributed to nuclear
program would be written in the his-
tory with golden words. Those martyrs
who lost their lives in this journey
could never be forgotten, their virtue
is indeed unique and unparalleled in
the court of Allah Almighty. This jour-
ney is not stopped yet, and will con-
tinue. We urge present, government,
especially Imran Khan that he should
follow Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto’s footsteps
and play his role in uniting the Mus-
lim countries. He will strengthen the
economy and exports of the country

ISLAMABAD  (APP): Min-

“This  a  special  gift  for
passengers on  Eid day  and I
also  thank  the  travelers  who
will use Pakistan Railways for

trains on Eid-ul-Fitr across the
country to extend maximum
facilities to passengers so that
they can spend the Islamic fes-

ones, the spokesman of Paki-
stan Railways said.

Court decision in favor of the
PTCL  pensioners,  Senator
Rehman Malik said the com-
mittee would take further ac-
tion if its directions would not
be followed.

said it is difficult for the PTCL,
PTET to provide all arrears in
one  time  so they  should  be
given  specific time  period  to
complete the task.
On the direction of com-
mittee,  the  officials  of  the
PTCL,  PTET  assured  to fol-
low  its  recommendations  in
letter and  spirit.

ministry of textiles and indus-

ISLAMABAD  (APP):  The
palm oil imports into the coun-
try witnessed negative growth
of  10.99  percent  during  the
first ten months of the current
fiscal year as compared to the
imports of same period of last
year.
The  palm oil  im ports
into the country during July-
April (2018-19) were recorded
at  $1539.159  million  against
the imports of $1729.208 mil-
lion during  July-April (2017-
18),  showing  decreased of
10.99  percent,  according  to
Pakistan  Bureau  of Statistics
(PBS).
In terms of quantity, Pa-
kistan imported 2,596,477
metric tons of palm oil during
the period under review com-
pared to the imp orts of
2,387,284  metric  tons  last
year, showing increase of 8.76
percent.
Meanwhile,  the
soyabean imports on year-on-
year  basis  increased  by  7.83
percent,  from  $9.848  million
in April 2018 to $10.619 mil-
lion in April 2019.

from the World Health Orga-
nization (WHO)  arrived in
Pakistan on  Tuesday to  sup-

Abbas  Bukhari  will  receive
315  Pakistani  prisoners  re-
leased by the Malaysian
government  on completion
of  their jail  terms in this
month.

Wednesday  night  and  to  be
given a warm welcome on be-

He said the government

Arif Alvi extended congratu-
