You are going to see images of five cities and their landmarks. Write a
paragraph describing each city and country it belongs and the landmark shown.
Use the vocabulary from the box for the descriptions. The first one is done for
you as an example. / A continuación verá imágenes de cinco ciudades y sus

New York is a big city in the


United States (North
America). It takes thousand of
visitors every year. The city
has a population of around 8
million people. There is a lot
to see and do in New York.
You can visit the Central Park,
the Metropolian museum and
Time’s Square. In the picture
you can see the Statue of
Liberty, a monumet built
between 1875 and 1986. It is
93 meters tall. The statue is
New York (USA) – The Statue of Liberty
located on Liberty Island in
the Hudson River.
Rome is an Italian city of 2 877 215
inhabitants, 23 capital of the Lazio
region and Italy. It is themost populated
municipality in Italy and is the fourth
most populated city in the European
Union. It is known since the end of
Antiquity asthe city. It is also called “the
eternal city” (in Italian: Citta Eterna).
St. Peter´s Square is a large plaza
located directly in front of St. Peter´s
Basilica in the Vatican city, the papal
enclave inside Rome,directly west of
the neighbourhood or rione of Borgo.
Both the square and the basilica
arenamed after Saint Peter, an apostle
of Jesus and the first Catholic pope.

Sidney
It is located in the southeast of the
Australian coast, being the state capital
of New South Wales. With a population
of 4.5 million habitants.

Weather
With a warm and temperate climate,
Sydney has a very stable climate (it is
not very hot in the summer or very cold
in the winter) with sunny days
throughout the year.
The Sydney Opera House is a building
dedicated to the realization of opera,
concerts, theater and other artistic

has 477,660 inhabitants, but its beauty
and its historical legacy make it a more
than recommended place for lovers of
tourism and travel.
Edinburgh Castle. Located on a
volcanic hill in the center of the city, the
Castle isE!dinburgh is biggest tourist
attraction. The struggles against the
Normans, the invasions of the
seventeenth century and the battles
against the English are recreatedin the
Edinburgh (Scotland) – Edinburgh Castle paintings of the salons. In the interior
you can see several exhibitions such
as the Honors of Scotland, where the
Scottish Crown Jewels and the objects
of the Scottish Royal Treasury are
located.

Dubai is one of the seven emirates that


make up the United Arab Emirates,
whose capital is the city of the same
name. It is located on the coast of the
Persian Gulf, in the Arabian desert.
At an altitude of 828 meters above
Dubai, the Burj Khalifa, currently the
tallest building in the world, represents
the union of art, engineering and
historical heritage. Burj Khalifa have a
lot Shopping Malls.
