Mystery Lake in Motion

7th Annual Run
May 31, 2019 @ 2pm

COLOUR RUN
 This year to celebrate our 7th anniversary of Mystery Lake in Motion we are doing a colour run!

 Things will be the same as last year! It was so much fun we thought we’d do it again!

 Here is what you need to know:

o There will be 5 colour stations along a 4km route. (still on River Rd)
o The colour is coloured corn starch.
o The colour will be thrown by the handful at the participants
o We are going to have our last colour station on the front lawn of RDPC.

 What’s different:
o Start time is 2 pm.
o Course is 3.75km not 5km.
o No BBQ, freezies or T-shirts.
o As soon as we are done everyone will be dismissed from the lawn, we don’t want the
colour to come back in the school. There will be a bag drop for students.
 Some FAQ’s
o Is the colour powder safe?
 Colors are made with high quality cornstarch and food dyes. All materials are
100% FD&C and/or D&C grade and approved by the US FDA. However our
product is not designed for consumption.

o Is it harmful if you inhale it?

 Although all the materials are food grade we do not recommend inhaling large
quantities of color powder. Anyone who has asthma, is allergic to any of the
ingredients or has any respiratory issues should exercise caution when
participating in color powder events. It should also always be used in well
ventilated outdoor space.

o Will the powder stain clothing?

 Color powder washes out of most clothing. However, it can stain some
materials. 100% cotton clothing is recommended and typical machine washing
with stain remover, removes the stains. We recommend removing excess
powder from clothing before washing and/or applying water.

o Will the powder stain skin or hair?

 Just as with clothing we recommend shaking off all excess powder before
exposing to water. Normal soap and water should remove color powder from
skin and hair. Some color does tend to linger for a few days especially on
blonde hair. If you are worried about staining, we recommend applying a
moisturizer to skin and coating your hair with a small amount of coconut or
olive oil before the event.

 Some Recommendations:
o Wear white! It will show off the colour the best!
o Avoid wearing contacts.
o Wear sunglasses or safety glasses to keep the powder out of your eyes.
o Run up to the colour station and then walk through the station, this way you will receive
maximum colour.
