Zunka - Marathi Recipe

Introduction

Zunka is a traditional Maharashtrian recipe. This is very easy and simple recipe. This is a perfect option if you
don’t have any sabzi at home and want to make a quick and tasty side dish. Do try this recipe and drop a

Ingredients

1 cup Besan
1 big finely chopped Onion
1/2 tsp Cumin seeds
1/2 tsp Mustard seeds
A pinch of Hing
Salt to taste
1 tbsp Red chili powder
1 tbsp finely chopped Garlic
2 tsp Oil
Finely chopped Coriander leaves

Method

Heat up oil in a pan.


Add mustard seeds and let them pop up.
Add cumin seeds and let them splutter.
Add hing and garlic. Mix well and fry for about 30-40 seconds.
Add onion and fry it well.
Add red chili powder and mix well.
Add besan and mix well.
Fry besan for about 2-3 minutes to remove the rawness of it.
Add hot water, salt and mix well quickly.
Cover and seam on low to low to medium heat for about 7-8 minutes.
Turn off the gas and add coriander leaves.
Mix well and zunka is already.
Zunka goes well with bhakari, poli, fulka or rice too.
