Aftermath Interview (continuation of Hope)

“So Mr. Lexis, right? Artori Lexis is your name?” “Y-Yes it is sir and don’t forget

Marcelo.” “Uh… yes of course and you’re Mareclo yes?” Mareclo nodded enthusiastically.

“Well then let’s start this interview about how it was like while the world was in corruption shall

we boys?” “Let’s get this started then!” answered Mareclo “Agreed.” Artori whispered.

----------

The voices of talking people, the cars driving down the streets, the crows “cawing”, and

dogs barking filled the city of Abhorrius with noise. “*sigh* What to do today, what to do

today…” Artori thought to himself while pacing around his apartment. An idea came into his

mind “Well it’s a Sunday today he should be free today.” He walked towards his phone that was

charging on his nightstand next to some water. With care he had maneuvered his hand around the

water to prevent it from tipping over and reached for his phone, unplugging it from the cord. He

tapped on the contacts app and stared at the list of names looking for Mareclo Valor.

----------

“Alright we will stop right there for now and continue with your day in a moment Artori,

now what were you two doing during the terrible events of the dark takeover Mr. Valor?”

Mareclo smiled obviously very excited to answer the question the interviewer lady just asked.

“Well then I’ll tell you about what we did during those dark times. Artori and I were usually
ninety percent of the time stuck in our boarded up apartment building and that was

excruciatingly boring. Just sitting in there for hours until we ran out of supplies then I’d get

totally pumped for that!” “Wait, so you enjoyed leaving the safety of your safehouse!?” “Tch.

Well duh, it sucked just laying around in our apartment building and yes we had the entire

building to ourselves. So when we did leave to go out it was blood rushing! Knowing we could

potentially get caught by the dark minions that were previously people that we either did or

didn’t know. Artori was so stuck up about if we brought harm to the minions though so we never

got to act in self defense against them.” “Mareclo! They were people though you don’t just start

swinging a weapon and think of zero consequences! Just because they were not into their right

state of mind doesn’t mean you have permission to hurt them.” “Okay, okay just joking Artori

hehe~” “Well then back to your story Mr. Lexis.”

----------

“Hey what’s up Artori!” “I’m good how are you?” “Well I’m doing nothing much just

woke up and hour ago *yawn*… I still wanna sleep.” “C’mon Marcelo if I told you I bought

tickets to the Yoro Temple would you wake up?” There was a pause on the phone call between

the two boys. “A-Ah I’m at loss for words Artori. Those are pricey though how did you get your

hands on them?” “Let’s just say I have been planning this for a while now so I saved up enough

to pay for rent and still be able to see this hidden place. I’ll see you at the train station at 12:00

AM, how does that sound to you?” “Yes of course I will see you there Art-” Marcelo ended the

call a second too early before he could finish Artori’s name. “See you there.” Artori silently

spoke even though the call already had ended. He gathered his belongings and packed some

snacks since they were gonna stay at the Yoro Temple for quite some time, packing them into a
bag he walked towards the door and left locking it. Artori had walked towards the train station as

it wasn’t too far away from his apartment complex.

----------

“So Artori apologies for the interruptions again, but how did you two feel over the time

of no hope at all?” “You bring up a good question fortunately for you we do have the answer for

that. For me at least, the year of having no one but Mareclo was not as bad as you’d think it was

enjoyable since we never got the chance to get so close before this.” “Was that an insult or a

compliment Artori?” Mareclo questioned. Artori stayed silent while snickering under his hand

covering his mouth. “It was both and insult and compliment. Sorry, I’ll carry on now. Well

during the darkness it was truly depressing as both of us had lost everyone we had known since

they were turned into mindless servants of evil.” “I’ll agree with Artori it was definitely not a

good time even if I was excited to leave the safety of our barricaded building. Knowing we had

lost it all but still there was some positivity that we had to hold onto even in the worst

situations.”

----------

“Yea! We’re here I think I see it right over there! Look Artori!” “Alright I see, I see

Mareclo save your excitement once we get close.” Black clouds had gathered around the temple

from out of nowhere causing it to get engulfed in the blackness. “Wait… what’s that!? Artori I

don’t like the look of that.” “Run. RUN!” The strange dark mass had swallowed people who

were visiting just like the two and had continued its pursuit on anyone it found. “Over here

Mareclo the train!” Hastily both had boarded the train again and it had took them away from the

incoming storm. They arrived back to the trainstation they were just at and had started running
relentlessly towards the apartment building Artori was living in. They had watched from the

window the entire city absorbed by the darkness of the strange fog.

----------

“-and that’s what we watched at the very end. Everything was all gone. From there all the

events are recorded in my journal right here.” “Well then thank you gentlemen for your time and

have a wonderful day.” “You too ma’am.”
