TIP • We don’t use capital letters with nouns: I’ve got a car.

● We use a full stop ( . ) at the end of a sentence:
My favourite thing is my car.
● We use a question mark ( ? ) at the end of a question:
What’s my favourite thing?
● We use an exclamation mark ( ! ) at the end of
a surprising sentence: Its name is Rose!
● We use commas ( , ) for lists: It’s got an MP3 player,
games, videos, the internet, a camera …
● We use apostrophes ( ’ ) for contractions (’s = has, etc.):
He’s got two sisters.
● We also use apostrophes ( ’ ) for possessive ’s:
