Moon Project. In this game, players will play as the administrators of the company, and the goal
of the player is to collect energy from the monsters. Those monsters in the game are called
‘Abnormality’. [2] Through this process, players can open new departments, meet different
Sephirah (the administers in the game) of the departments, and encounter more various
monsters. In the game, the player will also be able to have dialogues with different Sephirah
after each day, and they will give some missions to the player. To finish the mission in the first
run, players may need to go back to memory repository several times.
This game is inspired by the monsters from games and movies such as SCP series, Cabin
in the woods and Warehouse 13. Furthermore, it is developed from the thought of “What if
those monsters are real and your job is to manage them”. [2]
The game was officially released on Apr 9, 2018 on Steam, and now it has received 89%

Gameplay
Lobotomy Corporation is a Monster Management Rogue-Lite Simulation game. [2]
Players play as the administrator of the company, and the goal of each day in the game is to
extract an infinite amount of energy from monsters, called “Abnormality”, through the isolation
of Abnormality with the self-developed technology. This technology allows the administrator
to produce equipment for the employees to face the Abnormality better. Also, as an
administrator, players need to keep their employees out of danger while keeping the energy
extraction level at its maximum to achieve the energy-collecting goals of each day.[2]

[2] The main control screen that players will face.

Players will encounter different kind of Abnormality, and at first, player won’t have any
information about Abnormality. Players should decide what actions the employees should take.
After that, players just pick and place the employee who is best suited for the job and wait for
results.[2] After dealing with abnormality for several times, players can use PE boxes (the
expression of energy extracted from Abnormality) gathered to get the accurate information of
the Abnormality. After each day, players need to choose one new Abnormality from three
Abnormality offered by the game. The order of the department to open is followed from Asiyah
to Briah to Atziluth, which are the names of the floors. Then when players play the game until
the Briah (Central Command Department) opens, the Abnormality that need to be choose for
each day will rise to two.

Abnormality types
Abnormality are distinguished by their risk levels. There are five levels of Abnormality,
and they are called Zayin, TETH, HE, WAW, and ALEPH.
ZAYIN
ZAYIN Abnormalities are the lowest and safest Risk Level to interact with, before Risk
TETH. Players tend to get them through the first days and mid-game, and in certain occasions
during the late game. They aren't very threatening to the employees or the player, none of them
can breach, but most of them can still deal damage through abilities or even trigger insta-kill
effects, so is still better to handle them carefully. These Abnormalities usually give positive
effects and don't cause major consequences. [3]
TETH
TETH Abnormalities are more dangerous than most Risk Zayin Abnormalities, but still
more manageable than Risk He Abnormalities. In this category and onward, the Abnormalities
will start to deal threatening damage if lacking the proper defenses (Which can kill or make the
employees panic). [3]
HE
HE Abnormalities are the middle point the Risk Level chart, higher than Risk TETH and
below Risk WAW. They can cause various negative effects on the employees and facility,
ranging from dealing constant damage to being able to kill employees in one hit. These
Abnormalities can be a serious problem when their Work Results are low, which will make
them trigger their abilities or cause them to escape their containment units. They aren't so easy
neither so difficult to keep contained and not triggering their own abilities, but the employees
might need more stat levels to work with them. [3]
WAW
WAW Abnormalities are dangerous Abnormalities while breaching and in containment,
proving to be more dangerous than Risk HE ones but just behind Risk ALEPH Abnormalities.
They can easily cause mayhem across the facility and once their abilities trigger, it is hard to
put them in their place. All of them have a way to breach containment, summon minions or
possess employees. [3]
ALEPH
ALEPH Abnormalities are extremely dangerous both in containment and when they trigger
their abilities, being more dangerous than Risk WAW Abnormalities. Their abilities are the most
powerful in-game, as well complex with their own unique styles, from transformations, to
massive area damage, to summoning multiple minions; able to cause a 'Game Over' if they
aren't suppressed in time or neglected for a long time. [3]

[2] The proposal given by administrator

After players complete the task given by Sephirah, the players can upgrade the department
of the Sephirah. Sephirah will give proposal, which can increase the ability of employees, for
player to choose, and they will also have new dialogue with player. What player choose in the
dialogue section will not influence the ending of the game. The proposal chosen by player will
have a long-lasting effect on this game, the effect will not disappear even if player returns to
memory repository.

Plots
In the Lobotomy Corporation, there are two modes of the game, which are called work
mode and story mode.
The first mode is work mode that players control the employees and deal with the energy-
collecting task given every day. The energy collected from different Abnormality can be
transformed to unique PE boxes and used to unlock the information of Abnormality or produce
E.G.O. weapon and E.G.O. suits.[3] E.G.O. weapon and E.G.O. suits can help the employees
to fight the Abnormality better, and E.G.O. weapon and E.G.O. suits produced from different
Abnormality will have different status.
The story mode will follow right after player finish one day of work in the game. In Story
mode, there is a dialogue with Sephira, including AI Angela, which will also appear in the work
part. Through the mission they give, players will come closer to the truth hidden in the company.
Furthermore, players will be placed in a situation where they must answer or ask questions.

[2] Different choices offered in story mode.

After 5 personal dialogue with the Sephirah, player will face the Core Meltdown of the
Sephirah, which requires player to fight with Sephirah while finish some certain tasks to pass
this day. After suppression the Sephirah, the player gets a permanent reward, and they will
unlock the background story of this Sephirah and changing the appearance of the Sephirah to
their 'real' form. When starting a new game, the rewards will remain, as well with Sephirah’s
changed appearance. Players can always view the dialogues they have with Sephirah at the
main menu of the game, and they can also choose different response and see how the Sephirah
will reply.

Reception
Lobotomy Corporation got 89% positive review on Steam until May 29th, 2019, which
includes 3686 people rate it as positive.[2] Most of steam users give it a positive rate, and they
describe the game as “learning from mistakes and face scare and challenges”. However, most
of the negative reviews are about the poor English translation and the game keeps crashing
while playing. Some people comment that English translation is the only flaw that the game
has. It was clearly translated from Korean, and it wasn’t done well. There are several
grammatical errors and sentences that just don’t sound right. [1] The translation of the game is
quite direct, and sometimes it cannot help players to understand the game.
From the positive reviews, most people are attracted by the unique contents of this game.
They claimed that the theme of this game will probably sound familiar to fans of SCP readings.
[6] This game contains many features from SCP foundations, and the game has a DLC that
helps to improve the content.
Also, what is attracting to players is because this game has supernatural research and
containment sim straddles that treacherously thin line between brilliance and disaster.[4] Player
will face many difficulties in the game, and from the reviews of steam users, the difficulty is
the most attracting part of this game.
