Concert essay

On May 16 we held our spring concert at the Wakefield barn, the concert started at 7pm
with Heritage singers. After they finished their pieces it was unisons turn to go up, we started
out with “This is Why We Sing”. The song was really good, we had great sound and stayed on
temp. Also, the group solo was good, it was loud enough to hear and understandable too. We
then started “Please Stay”, a beautiful and moving piece if done with maturity and a level of
understanding on how emotional this piece is. We did well, we could have done better, we
rushed the parts that needed to be slower. Then “This Is Me” was next this song was probably
one of the best songs i have done, with the movement and how the audience absolutely loved
this piece. Wakefield voices are next and we started off with “Let My Love Be Heard”, theres not
alot to say about it except that it was a total mess, nobody knew their correct notes and the
timing was horrible. One of the best songs of the whole set was “I Dream A World”, everyone
knew this song and put everything into this song. We could have done a lot better if we just
practiced and worked harder at the songs and especially people to go home and learn it
individually. We ended the concert with “A Farewell” there was a lot of tears, especially from the
seniors, but the joint pieces went really well, it sounded amazing and i had such a good time
signing with everyone. The more voices you have in a choir the more fun it is to sing in one but
it is also easier to hide when you make mistakes.
