The contractor is not taking sufficient actions to protect the post tensioning strands which were brought
to the site. I have already given a site instruction regarding this on 13th September 2016(Copy attached).
But still they did not attend for any preventive action. Please find the photograph attached here to show

When the tendons stressed up to 100% of Jack Force ( 1367.1 kN ), the calculted elongation
was 229mm. Which was 110.3% from the expected elongation. It exceeded the tolerence given
in the method statement (+/- 8% ), we stressed it at 75%UTS for 15 seconds and this UTS
has been taken as Design UTS of strands. These were done on your verble instruction.

Subject :- Grouting Procedure Time :-

The grouting method which is going to follow by the contractor is as belows with
your verbal instructions

1. Use 1m Flexible Hose for Inlet and Outlet for pumping the grout
2. Start pumping from one side and check the fluidity at other side
3. If outlet fluidity is satisfied (Within the range) close it and stop the pumping until the hose tighten
4. Bend the hose upward and tighten it on the GI pipe which was held vertically close to outlet
5. Continue pumping until the pressure shows 0.5MPa
6. Stop the pumping and close the inlet hose
7. Bend the hose upward and tight it on the GI pipe which was held vertically close to inlet
8. Open the both side hoses and re-fill it again, when the fluid level goes down

This is not the procedure described on their method stattement submitted via letter
No.CHEC/RDA/SEEP/CONT/S4/0 1.39/0/001435 and approved by us via Letter
No.FSDI/CHEC/831.
Also as per the Cl.553.7.1 Of Technical Specification (page 38 of 144) "The outlet valve shall
then be closed, and the pumping pressure held momentarily ". Also As per the BS-EN
446:1996, cl.7.6 NOTE.2 says that "This may be facilitated by maintaining a pressure of
0.5MPa for 1min"

This is for your confirmation of the aforesaid procedure which is going to carryout by the contractor.
