Evolution Gaming presents ‘Rumble at the Box’, a Calgary Warhammer community event to

destroy the evil enemy that is Multiple Sclerosis (MS).

Teams of two from around the world will be converging for one day to wage war in three games of
death and dismemberment. Grab your most stalwart companion and assemble your most trusted
troops. Glory and fortune await the victorious!

The Lowdown
This tournament is in support of MS research. One of Evolution Gaming’s members has
recently had a loved one diagnosed with the disease and we have decided to put together this
tournament to raise money for this cause. We have kept the entry fee low so that you have lots
of money left over to donate via the Mercenaries available for hire.

Mercenaries
Sometimes victory comes to those with the best weapons and sometimes to those with the
best training. But more often than not victory comes to those with the biggest pay chest. Located
near the fields of battle lies a compound housing some of the world’s greatest and most expensive
mercenaries. Cutthroats, swindlers, murderers, and worse whoring themselves out to the highest
bidder. Money well spent if it can turn the tide of battle in your favour!

How it works
Evolution Gaming will be raising funds for MS research and proceeds will go directly to
charity. There are six mercenary units available to hire for each round of the tournament. Before
each game, after partners, pairings, and scenarios have been announced, each team will have an
opportunity to place blind bids on any of the mercenary units.
The mercenary units will be set up on a board with a container in front of each of them.
To place a bid, a team writes down the real cash value they will pay to hire the mercenary and
places it in the corresponding container. Once all bids are placed, the highest bidding team will
pay up and collect their unit and may deploy it as they would any other unit in their army. If a
bidder does not have the funds, then the mercenary will go to work for the next highest bidder
able to pay.
The mercenary units are considered friendly units for the purposes of spells and may use
both teammates’ generals and BSBs. A team may place bids on as many mercenaries as they wish.
If you do not have the cash to pay for the services of the mercenary up front, they will not
work for you. Each mercenary unit will have a cheat card provided with all of
their stats and special rules ,as well as a brief summary description of how they
function in each phase. Normal victory
points will be awarded for destoyed merce-
naries. Their individual point costs will
be stated on their individual
cheat cards.
Mercenaries for Hire

Lloyd & Harry

Although not particularly bright, these two
brothers are easy to utilize on the field of
battle. Point them in the direction of something
you want destroyed and watch as they smash
everything into the ground. Just be careful as
they have a tendency to fall over!
Lloyd and Harry are Giants. They follow all
the rules for Giants in the Orc and Goblin
army book. They are deployed as two separate
models.

Sir Richard Roberts & Rolling Thunder

Ostracised for his unsanctioned modification
to what was deemed a holy artifact of the Em-
peror, Sir Richard has taken his steam tank and
departed for greener, or perhaps more golden,
pastures. If you aint first, you’re last.
Rolling Thunder is a Steam Tank and follows
all the rules for steam tanks in the Empire
army book.

Gromli Fenrisson & Barking Death

Gromli left the mountains to seek his fortune.
Never one to bow knee to any but a bag of gold,
Gromli drags his organ gun ‘Barking Death’ from
battlefield to battlefield, trading death for coin.
This unit is comprised of one (1) dwarf engineer
and one (1) dwarf organ gun. They are deployed
as a single unit and may not be separated. Gromli
may not use his engineer’s special rules on any
war machine other than his organ gun.
Itsy Bitsy
Nobody quite knows why these particular
goblins are here. They are riding a giant, evil
spider so nobody really asks, and those that have
usually end up as lunch.
Itsy Bitsy is an Arachnarok Spider and follows
all the rules for such in the Orcs and Goblins
rule book.

Grotswallow
Blessed with an above average intelligence,
Grotswallow devoured his creators and left the
lair of his birth in search of his destiny. He will
often work for the promise of corpses to feed on
in addition to gold.
Grotswallow is a Hell Pit Abomination with
warp stone spikes. He follows all the rules for
such in the Skaven army book.

The Mystery Unit

Some of the most sought after mercenaries in the
area do not like to work in the open. Steeped in
mystery and shadow, they appear on the battle-
field in a whirlwind of death and then are gone.
There are three mystery units for hire
throughout the tournament. One randomly
selected mystery unit will be available for each
round. The mystery unit is hidden from view
during the bidding process. Once a winner is
determined, they will be given the unit and
may deploy it as normal. Any special deploy-
ment options the unit may have will be on its
cheat sheet.
