Moody’s upgrades India’s rating,
changes outlook to stable from positive

In a remarkable feat, Moody’s Investors Services upgraded

the ratings of Sovereign Credit to Baa2 from Baa3 for the
first time since 2004. This increase in ratings can be
accredited to the structural and institutional reforms by
the Modi Government including GST, Demonetisation,
Aadhaar, DBT etc. These reforms will translate into an
improved business climate, formalize the economy, and
increase lending among other benefits such as reduction
in corruption and debt. Moody’s outlook for sovereign
rating also changed from ‘positive’ to ‘stable’.

Indians happy with state of economy,

working of Democracy and Government under Narendra Modi
Citizen empowerment has always been the focal point of the Narendra Modi Government. From bold
and decisive moves like Demonetization and GST to diplomatic victories and increased international
cooperation, India has seen a remarkable growth in the last three years. Echoing the sentiments of the
Indian citizen, the study by American think tank Pew Research Centre shows that the majority are happy
with the current state of the economy and the direction of the country.
Nearly nine-in-ten Indians hold a favorable opinion of PM Modi who is very popular among men and
women and among adults in both rural and urban area, especially youngsters. Furthermore, the share
of adults who feel that the economy is "very good" has tripled in the past three years.
