“Helping Our Customers Achieve Superior Results”

Intelligent
Accessories
Canrig’s commitment to drilling efficiency has resulted
in the development of a line of intelligent top drive
accessories. Each blends innovation with excellence
in engineering.

Advanced Diagnostics System

The Advanced Diagnostics System (ADS) monitors
strategic points of the top drive unit and its associated
control and power system, making intelligent assessments
of malfunctions and reporting possible causes. The ADS
communicates with the operator via a color monitor with
a touch-sensitive screen to respond to messages. This
operator interface terminal also allows inputting correction
factors and shutdown of non-essential functions in case of
equipment failure.

Traveling Equipment Anti-Collision System

Canrig has developed the Traveling Equipment Anti-
Collision System (TAC) which sounds an alarm whenever
contact between certain rig components is about to occur.
If the alarm sounds and the problem is not corrected,
the action in question is stopped utilizing an automatic
shutdown device. Two different versions of the system are
available, including TAC I for rigs without top drives and
TAC II for rigs with top drives.

Equipment Condition Monitoring System

Equipment Condition Monitoring (ECM) of drilling rig
equipment in real time is not only possible but proven
to be effective. Using sophisticated sensors, purpose
built software and web-based data collection, Canrig can
deliver an even greater level of equipment reliability
and performance.

Enhanced Well Control (Optional)

The Lower Well Control Valve (LWCV) actuator is a
significant upgrade in reliability and functionality from
any similar device. Designed as a replacement for existing
actuators, it is field retrofittable to lower well control
valves in use today. The dual rack and pinion open / close
mechanism is not affected when operation is attempted
while the pipe is rotating. The LWCV actuator is capable
of functioning values in either direction against 2,500
psi differential pressure.

TDSU-Grasshopper (Optional)
The TDSU-Grasshopper enables fast and orderly rig-up
of the cables and hoses that are required to run from the
TDSU to the rig floor. This is accomplished through the
use of a hydraulically powered telescoping post combined
with a series of articulating cable trays.
Top Drive
Canrig is one of the world’s leading suppliers of top drive drilling systems
for the oil and gas industry. The company manufactures, markets and
services a full range of critically engineered portable and fixed top drive
systems for most land and offshore rigs. This includes top drives in every
size and configuration to meet any drilling application whether marine,
desert, jungle or Arctic environments.

Rig-Up
Canrig top drives are engineered and manufactured to API 8-C standards
and carry the API monogram. They set the standard for safety, reliability
Canrig top drives set the standard for safety, reliability and efficiency.

Efficiency
Superbly engineered products and unparalleled service have moved the
company to the forefront of the top drive drilling industry.
