OPTIMIZE YOUR GUT
1 Whether you have gut pain regularly or you’re just looking to feel your best all the time (who wouldn’t
want that?), optimizing your gut through good digestion can help. How do you improve digestion? It all
starts with refining improper eating habits and implementing healthy (and simple!) routines into your day.

Did you know that Ayurveda has three body types? Vata, Pitta, and Kapha. Your unique body type shows
how you use energy – For instance, Vata spends energy, Pitta manages energy, and Kapha stores energy.
Each type has certain strengths that can be augmented and weaknesses that can be supported. In
Ayurveda, discovering your body type gives you the perspective needed to truly enhance your health.

3 Even if you follow a generally healthy diet, that doesn’t mean you’re eating the right foods for you. Some food will
energize you, make your skin glow, and leave you feeling your best, while other food might cause you discomfort
and pain. There’s an Ayurvedic proverb that states, “If diet is wrong, medicine is of no use. If diet is correct, medicine
is of no need.” Once you determine your body type, it’s time to figure out which foods match your quiz results
and are right for your unique body type.
4 Can you tell the difference between the impact of eating celery versus eating carrots, just by
feeling? It’s common to not feel anything at all or to only have a vague idea of how food makes
your body feel after swallowing. You can learn to sense the impact of food on your body,
and we know you’ll be quite amazed with what you can discover with a little self-awareness.

Discover the medicine cabinet hiding in your spice rack! Depending on your body type, it matters which
spices you use to cook with and eat. You’ll learn that ginger grounds and warms Vata, that cilantro
cools Pitta, and that black pepper stimulates Kapha. The right spices will build your digestive strength and
help to detoxify your body. Adding just a pinch of this and a dash of that can remedy your imbalances and
get you feeling your best.
