newspaper. It will be posted on their own
cartolina. They will be given 5 minutes to Dave Albarado

TAGBILARAN CITY – The 19th
Ubi Festival showcasing ube (yam)
products from Bohol opened Tuesday
and will run until Thursday.

The festival’s venue is the

Agricultural Promotions Center of
the Department of Agriculture
located in Barangay Dampas,
Tagbilaran.

It kicked off with a motorcade around

the city and ended at the venue.

Farmers will exhibit their crops as a

way to promote ube, one of the most
important crops in Boholano culture.

The Boholanos’ love affair with the

ube is highlighted by the fact that it is
the only crop mentioned in the
provincial anthem.

The ube has become a symbol for

Bohol, and the festival is a way for
Boholanos to give recognition to the
crop.
