What Leadership Means to Me

1. When people refer to you as a leader what do you hope they are saying or thinking about
you?

- When people refer to me as a leader I hope people are saying or thinking that I am a
responsible and kind leader that puts others before herself. As a leader, I believe it is
very important to help others and always put them before yourself and that is what I
always intend to do.

2. I want others to consider me a leader because …

- I try my best to help whoever whenever I can because I believe strongly in treating
others the way you want to be treated. I always want to be treated with kindness and
respect and that is what I demonstrate to my peers, teachers, co-workers, family, etc.
As well as I am very responsible and want everyone to be able to trust me and feel as
though I am someone that people can look up too.

3. People who are considered to be leaders should be expected to …

- Be leaders. They need to be a good example to everyone around them. This ties hand in
hand with attributes such as responsibility, respect, kindness, cooperation, integrity, etc.
Overall leaders need to be the people who do all in their power to help those around
them grow and succeed. This is what I tend to do on a daily basis.

4. I define leadership as …

- I define leadership as putting others needs before your own, not for recognition but
because you want to help that person and ultimately the world. Leaders make
differences in lives every day.

5. I took this class because ….

- I believe that I am a leader and I can make a positive change in the school and want to
be able to make an impact on people’s lives no matter how small or large. As well as I
believe this course will allow me to grow further as a leader. I am extremely excited to
experience this course and what it has to bring!
